This is a retarded story, she should have known better to light a match on a plane. She's lucky she didn't get her ass kicked by the rest of the passengers.

How embarrassing. Instead of just the people sitting around her knowing that she farted, the entire world knows now.

Now if an Arab (or Arab-looking person) did that... I suspect they would've diverted the plane and made an emergency landing, questioned the poor guy for 4+ hours, then finally let him off.

Yes but not a lighter. Rather ironically Richard Reid tried to use a match not a lighter but the lighters were banned no the matches. Go figure

Unless you are Canadian, in which case they would have called the FBI and had the FBI deport him to Syrian where he would have been confessionated by his interogators and once he confessed shipped back to Canada where he would protest his innocence until it became in fact known that he only farted, whereupon a public inquiry into the deportation would be launched which casts a shadow over the RCMP (kinda like the FBI up here) leading to the resignation of the chief of the RCMP in dishonour.

Oh and if you think I am making it it up-search RCMP Commissioner on google
