Edmunds' InsideLine Luxury Coupe Styling Challenge. Help out the 3-Series Coupe!

Edmunds.com has launched a pretty interesting voting system for the 5 most popular and important mid-size coupes on the market today, namely the BMW E92 3-Series Coupe, Mercedes Benz E Class Coupe, Cadillac CTS Coupe, Audi A5 and Infiniti G37.

Its sad to say but the 3 Coupe is lagging behind the Benz and A5 in most segments right now, so take a second and cast your vote!!

Link to the voting booth: http://www.insideline.com/features/d...rt-coupes.html

They picked such a dull color. They picked the standard benz color for all the cars. Silver just does not do the e92 justice. They should have picked the marketing color for each respective car.

Inside Line should do a luxury sedan category as well. Then we'll beat them.

How can anyone vote for anything other than the 335i?

It is quite apparent that it is the best on the list.

The E-Class is ugly from the rear and afterall is a Mercedes.
The A5 is ugly from the sides and rear and is no where near the performance of the 335i.
The CTS is hideous and an American car.
The G37 is second best to the 335i.

E-class is beautiful from the front and the sides. Rear shot is questionable. Nothing wrong with mercedes.
A5's side is very sleek but rear is a little boring. Performance has nothing to do with this voting.
The CTS has unique defined lines and nothing wrong with an american car.
The G37 is uglier than G35, and I don't understand why its the second best.

Subjective matter.

I voted for E-class front/rear 45* shot and rest for 335. I honestly thought other cars looked better, but voted for BMW due to the "Race" I belong. Biased. Very bad...

i hear ya, but honestly ... when stacked up against the audi and benz it only exacerbates how dated the e9x bodystyle really is

mostly voted for the a5, sorry

-E-class is definitely good looking from the sides, front is pretty good too, and the wheels are gorgeous. Please, Mercedes is the 'American' brand of the German brands.
-A5: You say sleek, I say weak. Can't stand those lazy, droopy, weak side body lines.
- CTS: "Unique defined lines"...lol, the front is okay, but the rest of the car is ugly as sin. If it's not German or Italian I couldn't care less about the car (with exceptions such as Vette, etc)
- G37: I used to think that as well, it's grown on me a little bit. I said second best as far as performance goes.
- E92: Is sex. Definitely the best.

This is a BMW forum so it is sacrileges to say it, but in comparison to the other selected cars, the CTS actually looks OK - like a nice appliance.

Benz is drop dead sexy IMO. Just wish they had better engines.

IMO, the G35 looked better than the G37

CTS was almost epic win except for the fact that the rear wheels look horribly small.

A5 looks like crap IMO.

E92 is just classy in general.

Its a hard comparison to do since the A5 and E-class body's just got refreshed within the last 2 years while the 335i coupe's body style is 4 years old, But it was still a fun comparison.

As an overall look, the 335i is amazing, but when you take section by section it really doesnt look that good

Hopefully Edmunds starts doing more of these comparisons

i have a 3 coupe, but the body style is way too bland. Voted mostly for the merc and audi. Audi, still has the best design. Style innovation is being led by audi.

Lets not bash on american cars. I don't like them either, but no reason for unreasonable criticism based on brand preference. Cadillac is definitely trying something different with in their design studio and I give them props for trying. Yes, it does look like an appliance from Walmart, but without trial and error, there is no future.

Again, exterior design is a subjective matter so each on your own.

e92 got all of my votes. The A5 looks good and the Benz is drop dead sexy but it is still a Benz and therefore comes with all kinds of gremlins. I guarantee if you where able to drive all of these cars the Bimmer would win hands down. After all they don't call them the ultimate driving machine for nothing. By the way you can vote as many times as you like just hit refresh and it lets you start over.

I think the Audi is the best looking in all but the side profile... but that's not why I pick a car. I drive a 1 series for god sakes.
