I was using a key that had never had presets set into it... I changed that one second later... I agree though that song fucking sucks...

actually he has an xi and nice car someone mind explaining the smg, is there a way to just have it in a D mode where you dont have to push the lever or pedals?

When you first start the car (which requires the shifter in N) and push the leaver into the D/S section the car is in "Auto" mode which means it will basically shift for you. Presing it to the right again will put you in D/S manual mode where you ahve full control of your gear selection. You can also just pull a paddle to go into manual mode.
