330i vs IS250

So I'm driving home from work yesterday, and there's this IS250 all over the place..tailgating folks, weaving in and out of lanes, basically riding around like he owns the place. I like sporty driving, but not endangering traffic, so I wasn't about to join in, but I did get to thinking...man, would I love to line up at a red light with him.

Anyway, about 30 seconds later the stars aligned, the fates allowed, and the red sea parted and there we were, side by side at a red. Didn't acknowledge each other, but I knew he'd gun it. So, so did I, and the outcome was very predictable. I backed off at about 85kph (speed limit was 60kph), well in the lead, and slowed back down to about 70. Dude didn't pass me though, and actually tucked in behind me! Hilarious.

I think the IS250 is the 325/8 job to brag about, not the 330/335. I mean, that thing is under powered, and slow... You take care of the 350...

Couldn't agree more. Didn't want to go with the guy as a measuring stick, just wanted to go with him cause he was driving like an ass. If I was driving like an ass in my 330i, and an IS350 had an opportunity to take me down a notch, I'd fully expect him/her to.

Man, everytime I post a "racing" thread I get ripped.

I kept an open mind before I bought my car and it was between the IS250 and the 325.

The difference was back seat space (the IS has none) and power. Even the 325 eats the IS250.

That's just how it goes, I guess. I get a lot of BMWs that want to race me.

And like Jaws, I had an open mind before I bought the 330i. In fact, I was pretty sure I wanted an IS350. But the lack of a real back seat killed it. I have to fit a child's seat back there. Not to mention that the Lexus only comes with an AT, plus the test drive of the BMW sealed the deal.

my roomie was driving back home from lunch, i was with him..in his IS250 and @ the red light, we alligned with an e46 328i..my roomie didnt do anythin but the bimmer next to us kept revving his engine so he asked me whats goin on...so i told my roomie: he's gonna slam on the throttle once the light turns green...and he did hahaha!
my roomie doesnt know about the whole bmw vs lexus rivalry but i just told him that some bmw drivers get insecure when they see a lexus (eg. a 3series vs IS) and vice versa...why cant we be friends why cant we be friends

Maybe he was in a hurry....emergency, etc... Who knows. On the other hand, having an IS250awd myself.. I tend to drive conservatively as to avoid the attention of people such as yourself who'll lay the smackdown on my underpowered, overweight, cruising machine..

LOL. Either that or you never plan on having anyone above the age of 5 back there. But they can't have any feet.
