For the best info contact the financial aid department of the universities you are looking at. They will be able to point you in all the right directions. You'll probably need to fill out a FASFA as well. And since you a minority you'll have some pretty good scholarship opportunities open to you.

The way I got most of my scholarships in college was through my department (accounting). They had a list of accounting specific scholarships so I spend a weekend filling out forms for all that I qualified for and ended up getting most of them. Also, get in touch with the department you'll be pursuing your degree in and see if they have any assistantships. I got a graduate assistantship that paid for my entire master's degree.

Yeah, but he still might qualify for more scholarships. If you can get free money then take it!

True. If you are looking for money I would spend more time applying for Pell grants over Pail grants however....

I'm not really too familiar with Grants.

FL has this Bright Futures program and if you have certain GPA and SAT scores in high school the state pays either 100% or 75% of your undergraduate tuition. So that, coupled with some scholarships was all I really went after.

That was possibly me calling out a typo...Pell grants are typically quite well known...while I've never heard of a Pail grant...though imagining both pronounced in Ebonics I can understand the confusion
