Illegal to be drunk as a passenger?

Someone told me that it's illegal to be drunk even if your not driving, its "public intox" Is this true??

No. But as a passenger it's illegal to have an open container in the car...

Interiors of cars are considered private, the bus stop is public. True about open liquor in the car.

They always seem to let me off with a warning. Not sure why. The exception for me was my tint ticket, just before they changed the law.

Front tints are legal now, they made me peel mine off and they were only 50%.

I think they can, but it is just a tool that they use if you are being a complete ass, or endangering others (distracting the driver, throwing sh*t out of the car etc)

Which is why I carry around my paperwork proving that the tint is legal...

I'd suspect it's not probable if he's not in your area. I've had a few officer buddies of mine speak to prosecutors on my behalf before though. Every single time the prosecution dropped the charge. Yeah, traffic court is the good old boy network. It's a cabal of sorts. Everyone knows each other, and as long as you're paying someone, or know someone who can vouch for you, the charges will get dropped or lessened.

Yea...the ticket is only $100 but I just oppose it on principals...unfortunately it's not cost effective for me to take off work and fight it...
