wtf Lotus released new Elise concept today too
Yes a 4th concept from Lotus in recent days. Pics and specs bla bla...
Here are the basics: 320 horsepower from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine procured from Toyota, a six-speed manual and optional paddle-shifted automatic transmission, and a 2,409-pound curb weight. This supercharged model can hit 62 in 4.3 seconds. Price? $55,000.

That thing looks like it'd be absolutely beastly on the curves. 2400 lbs with 320 HP is win.
just imagine rolling up to a valet in that. the thing looks downright exotic. mini-gallardo is a good way to put it. all for $55k - very reasonable. |

I know people are going to complain that this car is too heavy and more expensive but really its still only 1100kg and pushes 320bhp. Weight has increased by around 20% but power has also increased by about 40% and power/weight has improved a lot.
I am sure Lotus will make a good job of it based on the current direction and looking at the success of the recent Evora. Sure a Lotus should be light but I still think it is light and if they do a good job of it the weight wont be an issue. Maybe because the Lotus is moving up it creates room for a smaller Lotus? Who knows...
