Possible Sony/Apple Merge

My two favorite elec. companies sharing tech... Should be sweet if it goes through.

I think they could both stand to gain a lot due to the merger.

Think about Monitors/Games/Gaming Systems/speakers/Blu-Ray, etc. etc...

Apple needs a tv manufacturer to produce TVs with AppleTV hardware. No proof, just an crazy theory. Didn't sony already team up with Google for Google TV?

Not sure if Apple is much of an "electronics" company. They just slap shit together in a somewhat novel way and tell everyone it's awesome, and then they profit.

It's funny to hear some of the iPhone4 guys talk about how their hardware is better than the Samsung phones (specifically the SGS family), only for them to find out... yeah...

This made me LOL. I wholeheartedly agree, but I hate Apple for the fad that it is (along with King Dick Steve Jobs), moreso than for what they produce.

Maybe now Macs will get Blu-Ray drives since they would own the licensing crap to it.

Apple DSLR camera, Apple Bravia, Apple PS3, etc.

Though I doubt it happens. Depending on if Sony wants to sell, Apple may buy a division from Sony( maybe the TV's), but I doubt they will buy all of Sony because a lot of what Sony does, doesn't fit into Apple's niche portfolio.

lol... this is a funny notion.. though I can't imagine either company wanting to be under the ownership of the other. Sony's big but Apple with its stake in Disney, is larger.

Sony already overprices its products... can you imagine Sony and Apple pricing?

Apple has something like $48B (as in BILLION) in cash. They have the second greatest market cap on the planet behind Exxon.

There is talk of them buying Facebook although I can't figure out why they would want to do that.

There's always talk of someone buying someone when there's that much 'spare cash' sitting around for a company. Time will tell, I do agree I don't know what benefit it would give them.

You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??"
