Why take an absolute beauty and wrap it in vinyl? They shouldn't be allowed to own it. What a waste.

Pretty funny, given that the body is already carbon.

You guys are missing the point.

It's for protection purposes obviously, to prevent the car from getting dinged, scratched, rock chips, etc.

I don't see why it's such a big deal, it's not like it's permanent.

No, it's the owner that's missing the point. Does he own a Van Gogh too? Maybe he should cover it in carbon fiber wrap to protect it too? If the dude has the money for an F40, then buy a "common" Fezza like a 458 to protect the F40, don't be an asshat and wrap it in vinyl.

+1

I can understand maybe if it was a special edition straight from Ferrari that came with unpainted carbon fibre (even at that I think the F40 wouldnt look good in any colour apart from red) but wrapping an exotic car like this in CF is just not my taste at all.

To be honest no exotic car should have any type of wrap. If you want to change the look fork out the cash for a proper good paint job.

You really sound like you have no idea what you're talking about.

I'm pretty sure that most people who have the fortune of owning an F40 bring it to the track at least a few times per year, therefore wrapping the car TO PROTECT THE THIN LAYER OF PAINT makes perfect sense to me, since it will keep the vehicle looking pristine throughout its life.

If you can afford it, then why not?

I didn't think so many people would get butt-hurt, its kinda funny actually... but to each their own.

Sure, but why not use racer's tape like 99% of the folks I know who track Fezzas, Lambos and well, any car with paint on it?

Using your logic, the owner could afford to put dubs on it, so what's stopping him?

It is his car, so bully for him. Honestly, if he likes it, who cares what I think? But I'll still voice my opinion and know 100% that I know what I'm talking about, whether you agree with my opinion or not.

I honestly believe you could could count on your fingers the number of owners who track their F40's

Official list of things in the world worse than fake carbon fiber:
1. An entire Ferrari F40 wrapped in fake carbon fiber.
2. Nothing.

Have you even attempted to remove a full wrap? It is ugly. The residue is tough to remove. The vinyl is also so thin it will not prevent rock chips. They will happen and likely won't be seen until the wrap comes off. It's not like a clear bra.
