There are serious wheels on the way - will 335i maintain?
It may not be a bimmer, but the future looks bright . . .

Baby steps - I like the Holden Commodore pics I have seen, which is what the G8 is. I hope for Pontiac's sake that the execution will be better than the Monaro/GTO debacle. From what I can see by reading up on Aussie mags, the Holden are well loved but not in the same league as the Bimmers. Unless I am mistaken, it is like comparing the 335 to a Mustang - not really the same even though they they both RWD coupes.........

there is no way u can compare a pontiac to a bmw. 2 totally different levels, classes, target market, quality, and alot more. not saying the pontiac is a bad car, but i would much rather prefer a bmw over a pontiac any day.

Pontiac is not a BMW yet, but don't miss the point . . .
All true, but you've got to agree the numbers are getting better and better - a 391 torque, 368 horsepower stick shift for 30 grand, and they are juicing up suspension etc. My point - don't be so sure there isn't plenty of competition and choices coming in the next couple of years.

335i will maintain. It can take corners brilliantly.
The Pontiac is still a American car (soft suspension). I don't wanna be killed taking a corner in that thing. Looks quite nice for an American car btw. |

I was actually surprised when I cross shopped a CTS-V with my e90 (It's a bit hard to argue with a 400hp V8 sometimes). On the street, it was actually more comfortable and tossable than the e90.
Where it ultimately fell flat was in dampening high speed bumps. On rough freeway over 70mph it did get the stereotypical american car boat-float going. But around town, and freeway on-ramps it was much more fun, much more tossable. Probably because it can be steered with the throttle much more. Ultimately, I didn't buy it just because I didn't like the quality of the materials. The American car companies are getting closer when they want to. |

OMG what did Pontiac do to our Holden . Dam i feel sorry for you guys in States that have to see our Holden Commodores with shitty pontiac bodykits.
BTW after i order my coupe i strongly am considering a HOLDEN SPECIAL VEHICLE (GTS) that is actually very impressive. If i was into sedans more then coupe's id actually go for a GTS instead of a E90. www.hsv.com.au (gts model) |

As usual with GM; in show car mode, it looks hot ... final product will be less hot (if not shit) & quality will be crap as usual.
IMHO, the only car they have not crapped out totally on, is the new vette ... mostly the Z06 Rear wheel drive... wow? I guess they finally realised the European where right & it's no surprise. Lexus was the first to copy, the Infinity & a couple of others. The hold outs are: Acura Audi Volvo Other crap I don't care to mention. Let's see; If I did not have the money for the bimmer, I would have gotten the G35 or the IS350 ... If I did not have any money for those, I might start looking at that Pontiac. In the end, the more I see this, the happier I am! Why? It gives us better BMWs. Just as we can thank Infinity G35, Lexus IS350 for the BMW 335i |

And the most shocking this is ... if they'd just bring over a lot of their Euro market products people'd start buying their products again. Look at Ford EU, they make some wonderful products. But because of internal politics, it'll never happen. |

You guys are hillarious, i personally love BMW's and never would think twice to buy a Holden(not anymore). But this car we have made in AUSTRALIA is unbelievably improved im suprised my self that GM has given all power to HOLDEN to create a new vehicle from scratch.
LOOK at this link, a high profile magazine has made this car, car of the year and it has beaten the new bmw coupe both 335 and 325, as well as all other top notch cars like caymen s etc etc. http://sports.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=181134 |
