BMW On Hiring Spree for Electric and Hybrid Development

Want to work for BMW while also helping the environment? BMW is currently on a hiring spree to meet the demands of its lineup expansion into more energy efficient and environmentally conscious vehicles. The company expects to add 1300 employees this year, and another 1300 for next year as it looks to add expertise in the fields of electric vehicle and hybrid technology, as well as cleaner combustion engines.

Just recently, at the end of 2009, BMW reduced its workforce to 96,230 employees from 107,539 2 years earlier.

About 1,000 new workers were introduced on average in 2008 and 2009. BMW is currently seeking research and development employees as well as purchasing and sales specialists as it seeks to increase sales this year by about 10% to more than 1.4 million deliveries.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but you aren't helping the environment by making more vehicles, let alone ones that use li-on battery technologies. The lithium refinement process is incredibly dirty. Turbo diesels are getting better MPGs than hybrid cars.

yea if I could design for BMW in the US, I would be on board. A great chance for electrical engineers to take part in the design process at BMW.

1 turbo diesel is the future those lithium ion batteries are horrible, and that's been known for years now.

Yea, they have engineering departments in Oxnard CA as well as Woodcliff Lake NJ. There is a design studio in southern CA as well. Look up BMW Designworks.
