GREENWOOD - Authorities said a man who was caught having sex with show hogs will have his case presented to the Leflore County Grand Jury next month. Andrew Lee Nash, 52, was arrested on Dec. 3, 2010 after police set up surveillance cameras in the owner's stalls near U.S. Highway 82 and the Yazoo River.

Greenwood Police Chief Henry Purnell said the hogs were examined by a local veterinarian, during a routine examination, and the owner was told that four of the hogs had a vaginal infection.

"The owner of the animals knew someone was messing with his animals," said Chief Investigator Huntley Nevels. "And the veterinarian confirmed the sexual assault. So, the owner contacted police and the officers staked it out and caught him out there."

Nash, who lives in the 700 block of Mississippi Avenue, was arrested at the scene and charged with 12 counts of unnatural intercourse.

Nash's bond was initially set at $600,000, but later reduced to $60,000.

Nash remains in custody at the Leflore County jail.

Greenwood authorities said Nash's case is scheduled to be presented before the Leflore County Grand Jury next month. If Nash is indicted and found guilty, he faces up to 120 years in jail.

And Mississippi should be its on country, they set the bar way high in redneck shit. Alabama isn't as redneck as people assume, MS is exactly what people assume. GA is very "dark", and TN is the higher class of Southerners.

Actually, I could see this shit happening in Iowa or Nebraska or Missouri too, and that's not really the south.

I'll vouch for MS being fucked up. When I was right out of college I interviewed at Peavey Electronics (in Meridian).

Even at that point in my life I had seen it all, but Mississippi was pretty eye opening.

Oh, and by the way a dude got busted last summer for raping dogs that were in someone's yard a few doors down from a bar in my hometown in So. Illinois... proof that this happens above the Mason-Dixon line too.

The South isnt what everyone is the US assumes. I love the South because people are very friendly, not a lot of crime, much cheaper living, not congested, beautiful women, amazing food, just great culture.

Now there are some exceptions just like any other part of the country like the above article, but it comes with the territory. You visit the South and have someone that has lived here their whole life show you around, you can get a feel of what its like. Just visiting it yourself wont do you much good.

I'm not knocking the South at all. One of my best friends was from Mississippi..and it has some great scenary, friendly folks and great cuisine...just saying it sounds so isolated and foreign to me. I've family in the midwest and i really like it there. And i've really no desire to see the east coast.

The south is full of amazing food. MS and AL with soul food, FL with seafood, LA with Cajun food. Has my mouth watering thinking about it, I might have to go to my favorite soul food place later.

I went to NO for the first time this summer. The food there was spectacular. Some of the best meals I have had in my entire life were in NO during that weekend.

Lots of African Americans, ATL is the hub in the south for that race.

It's not racist to state that your observations indicate there is a high concentration of black people in Atlanta. Don't be paranoid.

Racist would be if you started associating them with a stereotype like "Atlanta is the fatherless child, welfare-leeching, fried chicken capital of the south, because that's where all the black people are." That would be very racist. But simply repeating your observations about the demographics of a population in a certain area is not, in itself, racist.

I hate the whole "walking on eggshells" feeling about that stuff. It's kinda like how if you say anything bad about Obama, you get labeled a racist. This country's pretty fucked up like that.

EDIT: Honestly though, when they mentioned it on the radio this morning, I thought it would be some white dude with a mullet, a trucker hat, and some plaid flannel shirt missing its sleeves, or a wifebeater. I was surprised to see he looked nothing like that. Does that make me racist?
