I think this is a Porsche that actually does not photograph well. I have seen one in person, up close, sat in back, front, etc.. I liked it in person. Never thought much of them from any pic I have seen though.

I think this looks great.
Frozen grey looks better than most of the matte blacks I've seen. I read this thread over there too, but wonder why go to all this trouble when Porsche will paint match any color that you provide? It's an expensive option but is it more than the amount of work required to do this aftermarket? |

thats what makes this car...without the hips, the car doesn't look very good in 2D...hence why in Person its amazing...and has a ton of road presence, WAYYYY more pull than the 7 series and S class combined. It just looks so unique it draws mad attention. Performance is another story obviously, but that speaks for itself. To be honest, who is gonna need more performance out of a 4 door family saloon? |

I don't mind the frozen grey, I don't like the Black lettering though...matte black lettering does not look good. |

The regular Panamera bumpers are kind of boring imo. Love the Panamera Turbo though. The car looks imposing in person. I couldn't call it ugly, and I really don't understand why it gets such a bad rap. It looks like something a young head-exec would drive, leaving the S-class and 7 Series to the senior employees. Diggin the paint job too.

I also think the XJ and facelifted S-Class (at least the AMG variants) command comparable levels of presence.

AMG is offering several matte colors through their Designo program. But reading the warnings and requirements to maintain those matte paints gives me pause.... and anyway I like shiny things.

You're attitude is amusing. I could post thread after thread from multiple forums disagreeing with your statement. In your opinion, which you're entitled to, it looks better and you don't like the Pana. Fine. But don't pretend that the 1 series is universally loved or going to win any beauty contests. |

Never said it would. It was my opinion, and everyone has there's. IMO, I think that car looks like shit. However, for some strange reason you seem to be defending it to the death. Calm down dude, all I said was that the car looked like crap. You were the one that went off on my car, which had nothing to do with this thread. |

The hips on the Panamera resemble the CGT quite a bit in their own way...they are flared and have that 3D hump that allows the car to look good -- this is what cannot be seen in pictures. Not just the hips, but the front lights are inspired from the CGT as is the vertical slit thing under the side mirrors; the broad look is also inspired from there. Certainly ain't from a 911. Either way, its just an opinion. I think the Panamera looks acceptable in large part because its a Porsche, a sporting car, unique, and somewhat pricey. True if it had a Honda or Toyota badge...you wouldn't see many takers. But such is life. here u go: for the hips you need to see them in person, they don't show up on 2D photographs. |

In defense of the 1-series, it is an acquired taste. I liked the 1 when I saw it in person and I like it more every single day. It's a very artistic and emotional car (also, women love it), sort of like the Z3.
The Panamera (imo) sort of looks like a futuristic station wagon. My neighbor drives it. It looks okay, nothing special or unique really. |
