Supercharging your M3 will destroy the resale value, plus having another car would be awesome, especially an STi. I'd get a white one and do the clean aggressive look with some red accents. Yeah.

Resale value? Interesting. That's a good point; I totally forgot about that. Most of my cars are white so I was thinking of getting the white again if I go for the STi.

Thanks for the input.

I wouldn't say it destroys the resale value. There is a market for such car, especially on a site like this. Also the kit has zero major modifications, fully reversible. He can remove the kit and sell it separately. You would be surprised how much he could recoup from sale of the SC kit.

Exactly. Also he already took a depreciation hit on his current M3. Why go and another new car, to get hit again. An ESS SC M3 can easliy be driven as a daily driver. It is a well engineered kit.

You think having a supercharger added in the history of the car won't affect its value? Huh, didn't know it worked that way.

+1

on both points, I'd get the 2nd car and not touch the M3.

M3 is fine as it is, doesn't need a supercharger. Get the STI if that's what you want.

Daily driver = motorcycle. STI is too fuel-inefficient for a DD.

I own a 2010 e92 M3 (that I baby) and an Evo IX MR as my daily. Works out great and both cars are a blast. Id say do the STi. Each car has its own different kind of fun

Leave the m3 stock. The engine is fantastic. If you want to supercharge a car buy a mustang or something american or v8. The m3 is not the fastest thing around and will never be. I vote STI and upgrade that STI sell it when you're done...those are disposable car so will be the new turbocharged M3.....

Thanks all for the feedback. Seems like more are leaning toward staying away from the blower.

Haha. I use to like GTI's back in the day, but I was thinking of an AWD.

I agree. I love the e46 M3's styling but I kind of want my next car not to be BMW. At one point, I had both the black and white e92 M3's and my driveway looked like a car dealer lol.

I agree as well. I had two Evo's a few years ago. I had a VIII and then a IX. I was originally looking for a used IX (the X is a great car but not my cup of tea though) but the only ones I found (with my certain criteria - low mileage, MR or IX SSL, etc.) are in the mid to high $20Ks. So I rather get a brand new car with 0 miles at that price.

True.

My current daily driver is my X5 but that thing is getting boring and is an extreme gas guzzler with my heavy foot and me as the only rider.

The VW is AWD.

If you supercharge the M3, you know you will lose most of the money in resale value of both the car and the part itself. I also wouldn't want it to be out of warranty prematurely. I personally think the EVO is the car to go for but either way, you cant go wrong with the first option.
