Driver miraculously survives 199 mph supercar crash

Quote:
A $1.5 million Pagani Zonda registered in Monaco spun out of control at 199 mph earlier this week on Italy's A10 autostrada. Miraculously, the young Italian-Argentine-German driver survived, but sadly, the black Zonda F gave its life so he might hoon catastrophically another day.

According to reports, forensics have revealed that the driver — a German citizen — lost control at approximately 320 km/h (198.8 mph), sending the $1.5 million supercar into a spin. It hit a guardrail on its right side, lost a wheel, overturned and shot across the roadway, where it collided with a Mercedes — with whom the driver was apparently racing — and came to rest on the opposite guardrail. Both the 28-year-old driver and his 21-year-old Lithuanian passenger were unhurt.

An Italian-Argentine citizen of Germany in a Monaco-registered Pagani Zonda F? Again, thanks to a carbon-composite safety cell, Darwin ignores the baller rich.

Wow, so painful to see my favorite supercar destroyed like that. But it also impresses me. To see that such a high-speed crash proved not enough to beat the construction and design of the engineers that made that car safe. It shows just how strong that CF monocoque cell is. So, although I condemn the driver for being stupid, I give props to the people at Pagani for building a very safe car.

Good to know they came out unhurt. Hopefully this will be a lesson learned for the both of them about street racing...especially at such high speeds.

Oh, Italian-Argentine like Horacio Pagani. I guess it would be safe, it is built like an F1 car.

That is brutal. I think it is half car and half luck. Lucky that he hit a guardrail and not a concrete barrier

Glancing hit against the side. Not a direct hit. Car still faired quite well.

the part I have the most propblem with here is that he was 28 with a 1.5m Pagani. Goes to show you that money does not buy brains. In most cases rich people like this are the dumbest fucks ever to walk the Earth. Glad he just lost 1.5m but I am not happy it was a Pagani which is one of my top 2 favorite hypercars.
