How are SRT-8 dodge chargers?

I wouldn't mind adding one to my garage. Anyone have any experience with one?

Powerful.

Heavy.

Sounds like sex.

I know the Challenger SRT-8 got a well-done revamp for '11, if the Charger got the same one, then that must be a beast of a car.

We all have different tastes. I just don't like an interior that resembles a truck's.

Then again I've never been a fan of any Dodge interior pre-2011 model revamp.

Looks like Dodge is trying to make it look like a Japanese car.

Yeah the front end is garbage, but I like what they've done with the tail.

Garage List
Thumbs up

I think the SR/T is respectable, the R/T as well.

I test drove these back in 2008 before I picked up my G8. I think they're great cars. It's tough to dislike that American V8 sound (or the Australian/Mexican-American sound I had in the G8).

Be prepared to buy gas, which I'm sure you realize. It will make the 335 seem like a sipper... I averaged around 18mpg with my G8's 6.0L when driving normal - about 9mpg when driving a little more spirited, so I'd assume the larger Hemi would behave the similarly.

Go for it!

I miss my Jeep SRT8 so bad. It would chirp all four tires in first, in second, then as I merged it would downshift from fourth to third and chirp the again. When I didn't speed I got decent MPGs too. I killed so many Mustangs and Camaros. People on the freeway would pull up to me and thumbs up or want to race.

It would carry me the wife and my parents to the snow with no problems.

I wonder if it got the same suspension treatment as the Challenger. If it did, it should be slightly better in corners, but still a whale.

Its a cool ca,r has alot of presence, my dad has one. Not too much driver seat time but i did have fun with it. Really fast easy to chirp tires, and has firm, predictable handling.

Me id personally go with the jeep

Despite the new one's controversial looks, it's going to be a fast son of a bitch. 6.4L HEMI V8 with 465 hp (that's it?) and can go from 0-60 in the 4 second range, do a 1/4mile sprint in about 12 seconds, and it won't stop till it reaches 175 mph. Not bad seeing as how it's only coming with a 5-speed auto. Basically it's going to be a badass car.

Chargers are straight line beast, and the engine note is pretty aggressive. You know when one is around.

I just wish they weren't police cars around where I live, that takes away somewhat from the cool factor.

Same. I have to say, though, the FHP Chargers look pretty badass as far as police cars go:

I love the SRT-8 jeeps also but they only get 12 mpg at best, where the SRT-8 charger 20 mpg on the hwy.
