I Hate Paying For Gas!!!!!

I had a conversation with a friend today and he was talking about how he just bought a scooter because gas is going to be $5 FOR REGULAR!!!!!

So I posted this episode of Top Gear to feel better about the gas prices...

I hope it worked for as well for you as it did for me....

Better get used to it because it's not going to change.

If it does change, it will only be going up more for the next 12 months.

Break out the $100 and fill up your tank.

This will also make US residents feel much better about fuel prices:
http://www.theaa.com/onlinenews/alla.../march2011.pdf

US: ~0.60 GBP/liter
Europe: 1.10 - 1.40 GBP/liter

Belgium is currently about 1.50 Euro/L for gas and 1.40 Euro/L for diesel, easily $2 per liter with the current exchange rates. I usually pay about 60 euros ($100) to fill up what amounts to a VW Golf. (and it's not like they pay more here, even before 33% income tax, 13% SS tax, 21% VAT, and probably some others... on the bright side, tipping isn't necessary.) I'll be back in the US in a year or two...

And I am planning on abotu 10,000 km in road trips this summer/fall... crazy?

Soon... gotta get all the traveling out of my system first. The most annoying part is paying the social taxes and knowing you will probably never really use any of the services.

I guess at least most of the cars over here are more fuel efficient (because they are less powerful), and my TDI gets the equivalent of about 40 mpg at 75 mph, which isn't too bad... and more if I could bring myself to drive slower.

Watched a news story about a guy that had parked his Suburban and was riding his bicycle 50 miles round trip to work.

He said it holds 42 gallons of gas. At $5.00 a gallon that's $200.00 a tank.

And I've read the 2wd 5.3L average 15 mpg in town if you're careful and the 6.0L 4x4's get single digits.

Anybody that still has one after the 2008 fuel prices needs their head checked.

WOW^^ That sucks...The thing that pisses me off is the fact that I would like my next car to be a M3 or 1M... Both cars get worse gas mileage than my current 1... And Im talking about 3 ta 4 years from now when gas could be $5 ta $6.. I feel like someone is taking the fun out of my life....

$5 a gallon, I wish! We're paying just over $8 a gallon. (yesterday £1.32 per litre). Shit you guys are paying about £0.85 a litre. I'd be loving that! Not seen that in a couple of years!

Edit: Yep, I checked and last time our prices were that low was January 2009!

Bad times. We've had our ups and downs in the last 4-5 years but for the last 2 it has been constantly increasing.

Yeah, it's only going to go up. Oil is depleting. I don't think it'll be very long until we see $10.00 / gallon.

It appears that Munich are already approaching $9 a gallon right now!

I think I might just run out of gas today because I have been putting off going to the pump... It feels like such a waste of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$....

One of the reasons I'm so happy about a new job I just secured after a 2 month interview process. I get a brand new Escape with all gas/insurance/maintenance paid for. I can use it for personal use too, that's worth probably close to 10k/yr right there. Also seems to be a great sales job.

And yes, filling up my 5.3l z71 is painful

Thats awsome.. Ya I think once I get out of school it might be a little easier but if its not the fact if anyone can or can't afford it.. Its just crazy to think gas when I first started driving was in the high $1s or low $2.. How can it just keep going up...

How ridiculous does it have to get for someone to say "ok this is what we have to fix it..."
