I don't know who in America a monarchy would be celebrated. Sure it's not like that anymore but this marriage symbolizes something that was greatly despised three hundred years ago. And what the hell is the role of these people anyway? Nobody gives a fuck about them.

I personally am not bitter at all about it. I don't even care as much about all the money they're spending. As a different, tradition-based culture, the English value certain events (incl. royal weddings) and treat them accordingly.
