Jaguar Greenlights C-X75 for Production. Cost a fortune.

Quote:
aguar will take on the Porsche 918 on the road, if not the track, with its C-X75 hybrid supercar, Its name will change, and Jaguar will build just 250 examples at a price of 700,000 pounds or more, depending on the market and taxes. That "base" price comes to $1.151 million based on recent exchange rates. Orders will be taken this fall, with deliveries beginning in late 2013.

A 1.6-liter, highly boosted gasoline internal combustion engine four with "not just one simple blower," according to Jaguar-Land Rover engineering director Bob Joyce, combines with two powerful electric motors and four-wheel drive to bring on a sub-3-second 0-60-mph time and sub-6-second 0-100 mph time, plus a top speed of more than 200 mph. All-electric range is up to 31 miles and Jaguar's estimated CO2 emissions of less than 99 grams per kilometer suggests combined fuel economy of 55.2 mpg.

Williams F1 will help develop the high-profile, low-volume supercar, and will contribute aerodynamic, carbon fiber, and hybrid technology know-how. The cars will be built in the United Kingdom, though the project is part of Tata Motors' $1.7-billion-per-year, five-year investment in new technology and product.
"Fundamentally, I wanted to deliver the concept car. But in the timeframe, we can't do that with the (2010 Paris concept's) gas turbine," said Joyce. "The piston powertrain fits the design envelope. It will be just like the transformation from Range Rover LRX to Evoque."
It will not use an existing engine or an F1-based powerplant, Joyce said, though it will use Williams F1 principles.

... More lithium mining... More small "fix" for a big problem. The front is GHASTLY. Everything else is nice.

I will never ever ever ever buy a Jaguar. And their build quality is going to go to shit when they start getting built in India.

The front looks like a catfish

I don't care if it is faster than the 918, the Porsche would get my vote any day of the week.

I dont know why people cant just like how this thing looks. It is so out of the planet that trying to critique it seems a bit feeble. I just hope they keep the fastidious attention to detail on the concept for the $1.5 million production version.

Yeah but those will only be for the Indian and other close by markets, if they ever actually do it.

Being far out doesn't make critiquing it feeble. A car is a car. There's no such thing as not being able to critique a design.

I really do not like anything about this car, although the dead-on rear view is cool. It's like they tried to take back the molded soap bar look of the late '90s/early-2000s and throw in some caricature modern detailing. Everything is melted and doesn't have any strength or tension. I think it's just ugly and exaggerated for a wow factor that'll capture a person's attention because it's simply overwrought.

The front end is the worst. Don't know why they'd space out vertical headlights so wide like that, not to mention they made them look like bug eyes. The hood vent disappoints and the side intakes look awkward.

There's my critique. Calling it feeble would be nothing more than another opinion.

I'm speechless. Thanks for your detailed critique.

My knowledge isn't as vast as yours but I did notice the front hood vent and the lights are the worse part. I admit, I hate the front.
Now that I of it, I guess if they work on the front and the side vents, it would be enough to make it beautiful. Don't you think?

This.

I'm a dumb fuck but could tell you all day and with polysyllabic adjectives why the Acura TL, Infiniti QX56, Nissan Juke and so on are the ugliest cars on dealer lots.

I didn't come to respect by judging just one post of Nikkahtropolis. Nikka has a completely different way of looking at cars and I enjoy his opinions as almost all make sense and logic. If you read his other posts, you will realize, this guy is really knowledgeable.

Besides, I want to give good opinions and not waste time of other users reading a ballooni crap. I want my opinions to count
