My friend wants to build a project car?

Hey guys
Anyone know where I can find a car or bike for 2g or less that's easy to work on. This will be my friends first "project" car. He needs something that still runs though, so he can build his experience up. He drives an altima, and got this random ass idea to start this

. Any forums out there that can help him build the car up? He has minimal experience, i think, though he says he knows how to keep them running??
Thoughts, suggestions?

Ill post pics if he decides to go through with it.

I bought mine from a old lady for $600. Cant beat a classic BMW for less than a grand. The parts are dirt cheap too.

If you are looking for a cheap bike project, look at the old Yamaha XS650s. I always have my eye on craigslist for a donor bike...
