Anyone have a Varicocele / surgery on one?

Google images would be NSFW.

Quote:
A varicocele is a widening of the veins along the cord that holds up a man\'s testicles.
Causes, incidence, and risk factors

A varicocele forms when valves inside the veins along the spermatic cord prevent blood from flowing properly. This causes the blood to back up, leading to swelling and widening of the veins. (This is essentially the same process that leads to varicose veins, which are common in the legs.)
Varicoceles usually develop slowly. They are more common in men ages 15 - 25 and are most often seen on the left side of the scrotum. Varicoceles are often the cause of infertility in men.
The sudden appearance of a varicocele in an older man may be caused by a kidney tumor, which can block blood flow to a vein. This is more common on the left side than the right.
Symptoms

Enlarged, twisted veins in the scrotum
Infertility

Painless testicle lump, scrotal swelling, or bulge within the scrotum
There may not be symptoms.

So I\'ve had this since I can remember. My doc initally noticed it when I was about 10 or so during a physical and mentioned I might eventaully need surgery on it.

Well its recently gotten more uncomfortable and I went to the urologist who called it \"signifigant\".

Anyone dealing with the same?

Ps i wouldnt google images at work (NSFW) unless u want a shlong on your screen

Did your Urologist recommend surgery?
the "significant" word usually catches my attention
I wouldn't mess around with the boys
Good luck

As I read this, my testicles cringed as I imagine someone with bolt cutters lopping off the overgrown mass of veins.

From what I heard, it is never curable. After surgery, it can come right back because those veins can regrow large.

As long as it does not hurt or causes any pain to you, I probably would not recommend surgery.

I read online that there are some things you can do it ease it.

Taking warm showers will make your balls drop more and make it more loose.

Ice pack also helps as well I believe.

I would probably worry a lot and think of everything that could go wrong and stress myself out for no reason. I just had surgery on my cervical spine, I kept thinking one slip and I might not walk again and if I couldn't walk my junk might not work either.Or I might not wake up and that would be it.Everything went fine and I am glad I did it

It's natural to worry but I would do it in a heartbeat, don't deprive yourself of being a parent someday it's a great feeling and well worth the risk.
