Question Pissed at Discover.

My score just shot up 25 points and I'm excited!

Just wondering if most people here have fair good bad or excellent credit, I am a little upset that Discover declined me. I wanted the 5% back damnit. Who do they think they are?

Anyone else want to share their experiences with Discover?

i used to have bad credit when i was in my teens because i would give in to sport illustrated commercials and columbia house cd offers... I was in the low 500..... Anyway i finally matured up and now i'm in the mid 650's.... Last time i checked was like 3 months ago, so i'm pretty sure it's getting a bit higher since i'm continuing to make my car payments on time and stuff.

We were over the 750 when we refied about 2 years ago. Wife just bought a house with her sister and she was pushing 800, they didn't run my credit since I had to quitclaim the house for her to buy with her sister.

i want to reach 700.. i should be there soon = D

If i keep doing everything right.

I have no experience with discover.. I know not a lot of places accept them, and that's it... I think Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are good. I personally have 2 store cards (macy's, bloomingdales) and now two credit cards (HSBC, Citi)... that's it.. i'm waiting for my score to be up in the 750's to apply for american express blue.. I believe they have great rewards.

I'm planning on buying a home though, and i've heard that lowers your credit score by like 20 points when you get the loan. True?

Garage List
Right around the 750 mark here. Some quarters just north and some quarters just south.

We effectively re-bought the house during the refi, and our scores went up. I don't watch it closely enough to know week by week what my purchases do. It's the history of never having skipped out on a payment, and having used credit in the past wisely that keeps it rising.
