Nice!

Only thing I don't understand is... you complain about leaking gaskets and then get an STI?

Been there done that. I'm back with BMW.

Enjoy trying to make a Bluetooth phone call with road noise that sounds like you're in a 747

Or the or the crap stereo

Or painful seats

I could go on and on.

I got a 2011 Subie and sold it 8 months later.

I dont know, STi seems like a cool car, but if your over 26 it can probably get old pretty quick.

I had an 05 STi, loved it, but I honestly think it had more rattles at 40k miles than my '99 e46 has at 150k.....

It's somewhat of a downgrade if you ask me. I own an E92 and test drove a 2010 STi 2 years ago.

As soon as I sat in it, I felt like a 18 year old. All driving pleasures be damned, the interior is horrible and the car is so rumbly and loud, not in a good way. Just went to an autoshow last month and the new one seems to be exactly the same, although I didn't bother take a real look at it.

Gasket leaks and broken bolts will seem like childs play when you face a blown stock motor lol.

I bought this one from a repo company. It was screwed up to begin with, I had to replace rotors, pads, tires, rims, bumpers, headlights, trunk, starter, battery, water pump, thermometer and got it towed couple of times.

But I am not complaining because I had so much fun with this car, and I don't get why are you are even comparing STi to a BMW, it's a completely different and separate cars. If you don't like it don't buy it simple. Did you see the new Nissan leaf? It looks hideous from my perspective but I don't go to the owner and tell that guy it looks ugly, you should never buy it.

Look I'm not dissing my own freaking car, but you know you got to admit, theses bimmers leak like all hell broke loose. And those bolts were hell to get them out, drilling and trying not to strip.

So what it came down to was Mazdaspeed3, GTI, STi, or an evo. I didn't like the evo X, GTI was slower than my 325i and mazdaspeed3 just was not my cup of tea. So I went STi, which the owner still had warranty that can be extended since he had low miles and stuff. So my choice? STi. I had a shop check for turbo creep so it doesn't rape me over later with screwed up ringlands. All of you talking about stupid stuff like broken motors don't know anything, I actually have had few of my relatives blow their audi and bmw motors, but I see my dad rolling on his old ass lexus and toyota fine. I know STi having ringland issues but I never seen anyone in the area blow their motor unless they are a dumbass redlining everyday which I don't do. It's all about the driver, my friend still has his e46 @ 200k running fine without too much problems. And there is a reason why resell price for BMW is so low, and why infiniti has much better resell price, you tell me.

And all of you thinking this is a downgrade need to rethink about this. My car was 106k, with minor body blemishes. I just bought a 2008 STi with warranty which has around 35k and is bone stock with no body damage and clean interior and 90% left on tires.

So gtfo haters, go enjoy your own car. Also I owned a Civic before, it's a good car. Just the drivers suck a big dick and drive like assholes in socal. And whoever that dumbass 328i coupe owner going like 50mph at valley view near garden grove the other day suck a dick. Almost scraped my car asshole. Fucking disgrace to BMW owners. Going fast on local wrecklessly only makes you look like a fucking ******.

Happy modding guys. And everyone who was pming me and texting me about parts I am sorry I didn't reply, I was busy with finals and work. And someone stole my phone like yesterday. Awesome.

Nice choice. I have an '02 wrx that I bought new and have modded a little over the years. Anyway I don't recall if there was ever an oil pick up issue on the '08's but you should check out killerbmotorsports.com they make a beefy oil pick up. It's cheap insurance in my opinion; installed one on my suby a couple years ago. Many oil pick ups have failed because of the cheap brazed welds on the tube near the block; which will crack, or drop in the pan and starve your engine of oil.
Anyway have fun with your new ride!

I still love STIs. My DD is 05 WRX. I almost bought 09/10 STI hatch. Then I ended up with 135i. I don't regret my decision. Love the car.

Are you going to mod it? Are you going to use Cobb or Open source? Mine is tuned with open source. Free if you use the OTS maps. You can even tune your own car, if you desire. I got it dyno tuned. Plus launch control is awesome.

Enjoy the STI. Many STIs doesn't have ringland issue either. It get's turned into big deal because it's big item. As in "need a new motor," big issue.

From what I read, many of the ringlands failure is due to driver/mod issue. e.g. cruising at 60mph in 6th gear, and stomping on the gas and expecting the STI to accelerate like a rocket. ( Although my 135 with JB3 has no problem doing this. )

Or mod the car, and get an improper/bad tune.

Oh yeah. I also have MS 3 too. Drives nicer than WRX and more room.
