How hard do you work?

So I am sitting here at work and I would say on a given day I spend about 2 hours reading the boards or staring off into space. I cant help not to think it is affecting my work in some way although I cant notice a difference.

Does everyone work for a straight 8 hours at an office job and enjoy it?(not including you commission folks time=money)

Am I supposed to be this bored?

I only work 1-2 hours out of a 8hour day, if I'm scheduled on a saturday I end up working 3 hours out of 6.

I spend the rest of my time online, bored. Sometimes if we are overstaffed I go out with a coworker shopping around town.

I am a server and am in college, so I guess I am always working on something. Mainly tedious work though.

It's a mix for me. Right now, it's long ass hours and hard work. It's been that way since April.

I can stop and surf the interwebs when I want. Most of the time though I stay busy because there is a lot of work to do.

I find it easy sometimes (depending on the work I'm doing) to read forums and work at the same time. If you really only work 2 hours out of an 8 hour day, I envy you. My first guess would be that you work a government job...

I work 80-90+ hour weeks, which includes a 30 hour call every 3 to 4 nights. So... yeah.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, those were the days.

It gets much, much, much better!

I hope you're not in a surgery residency, or else it will only get a little better.

Just be glad you are doing it now.

Before the current regulations...

100 hour work week....on call q3 for wards q2 in MICU or CCU.

It could have been worse.

I can spend about 15 minutes a day surfing and checking my personal e-mail, but that's about it besides lunch.
