Without going into huge detail, in a stock 335 do NOT do a Roll. Take em' off the line and you'll eat his lunch. Give him a roll to about 35-40 in second gear however and he'll be right there next to you for quite awhile.

We were out of town just a little ways... Silly little stoplight stuff. From a stop I was just walking away... From a roll, he only lost ground when shifting, but was right there the whole time, slowly fading but door to door.

I think he was expecting me to be upset about it, I gave him a wave and was having a good time. I thought it was a great way to get back from lunch.

First time anyone has messed with me in the 335... Makes me wonder if it's the wheels bringing out the motorheads.

No Not totally stock, very loud BOV, and wheels and tires anyway. I mean I'd love to think that he's spent countless hours tuning and wrenching of course. But Other than a BOV, I cannot say what was going on under the hood.

But, since you asked the question. The Answer is because it's entertaining and I don't have my head up my ass about an SRT-4 not being somehow worthy of some mild lunch time entertainment. Am I not Supposed to have a little fun because it's "Just" an SRT-4?

I figured he's prolly never ran into a 335 before, I might as well try NOT to look like a Self Absorbed bimmer weasel who's just "Too Cool" to play with the mere plebeians... Then I'd have to say he was prolly chipped then. Like I said he wasn't pulling away, but I certainly wasn't leaving him in my mirrors either.

Say what you will, but SRT-4's ARE quick lil suckers. They weigh around 3050lbs and have approximately 265hp. Lots of racers have lost to them. Yes it's nothing more than a glorified neon, but dont just blow them off or they WILL embarrass you in your $50k car.

I don't mess with Neons, But I'll play with just about anything else with a turbo on it STis, Evo's, and yeah I knew it was an SRT4 and I'd read about them when they came out. Inexpensive doesn't mean it's not worthy somehow.

But, In the twisties prior to this light for about a mile the SRT4 fell back and continued to fall back.

SRT4, S2k, STi, Evo MR, .. IMO anycar can be made quick, just how much time/ money are you willing to spend, and as most know those imports are cheaper to mod then our beloved 3'ers .. but you cant deny the fact that those car can become really really quick.. but of course it will never drive like a bmw... RIGHT?? (rofl) anyways said and done.. i just try to respect and apperciate all the other car enthusiast out there that love to just burn rubber

SRT4/ Neon, Evo/Lancer, STI/ Impreza.. I was talking more about a straightline race. Turns and curves, no way it would keep up. Also all of those import cars you just rang off.....they come fast stock and can beat "our beloved 3 series".

That skyline gtr is nothng more than a suped up g35. And your procede 335i is nothing but a mildly upgraded 320d (absolutely no offense intended for you guys with 320ds).

Ha, what a coincidence! Followed an SRT4 home last Friday, never got to line up with him though. I had to bury my foot to hang with him and it didn't look like I was pulling on him very much at all. He was definitely not stock...way too loud. Quite impressive...too bad it's a Dodge. Dodge has been officially blackballed from me for the rest of my life (long story...Dodge truck). Daimler finally wised up too I see.

I think someone else around here try to race a SRT8 with a 335 with a proceed and got his ass raped which isn't surprising those things have 425hp stock and for 36k thats a hell of a deal it could possible give the new m3 a run for its money for only half the price. And if people are just looking for performance in a car i don't think they give a rats ass if its a dodge or bmw just my .02

No no, you're incorrect. I've run with 3 SRT-8s before; one 300C SRT-8 from a 60+ roll, one Jeep GC SRT-8 from a 60+ roll, and one Charger SRT-8 from a stoplight to ~ 110mph. I beat ALL of them without a problem! :rocks: The Charger SRT-8 was the most challenging...he got a better launch than me, but we were dead even until I hit 3rd gear, when I pulled on him and ended ~ 1.5CLs ahead when we shut it down.

I've documented all these runs in older threads, but no videos.

A stock 335i could have some difficulty with the SRT-8s (could be a driver's race), but a PROcede 335i does not. Yes, they have 425BHP and 420 lb.-ft. TQ, but they're very heavy (>4,000lbs.)...kind of like flying bricks.
