Bmw x5 valvetronic intermediate leveler

Anyone know where to fix this problem on a 2005 4.4i x5 that's not at a dealer. Somewhere near Ontario or closer too the boarder in NY. My dealer is asking 5 k and wanted to see if other mechanics can work on it. Thanks for the advice in advance .

If you can go Florida, then you can have a wonderful option there...

Really? like what? is it that much cheaper? I dont care ill drive i go there every year anyways but i usually fly ill drive down.
