C&D on the New Mustang
Most detail yet about the new Mustang. A lot of good stuff here, hopefully it drives as good as it looks. As for power, this sounded pretty good: "...we understand that the GT-badged “five-oh” will jump to 500 horsepower..." M3/4, look out.

They did a nice job with that! That's gonna be hot...and fast. If they put that flat plane crank in that it's gonna be a potential game changer. Along with the C7 and further iterations of that car. Yay America! Finally

Mustang GT with 500 hp. that's just bonkers. good for them - while I don't see myself picking one of these up, consumers win when there's good competition. if these cars are cross-shopped with the M3/4, maybe there will be some pricing pressure put on the M cars making them more affordable (not through MSRP, but what they actually sell for). perhaps wishful thinking, but a guy can dream.

If the GT is really 500 hp, has a decent IRS and costs anywhere near the current one, and also is also lighter as rumors have stated, I don't care if it has a hula hoop for a steering wheel and a milk crate for a seat, I'll buy one.

No brainer for my next car as long as the driving dynamics are good. Can't beat the performance of this car which will be priced under the overpriced m235i.

I bet it will be a great car. I wish they didn't keep a lot of the "retro" interior and would have completely modernized it... I've never been a fan of "retro" in the Mustang, Camaro, etc. Otherwise, looks promising!

that's fair, kind of like how they went from 04 to 05 kind of change.
i feel like a lot of manufacturers are sort of in a recycling period with their designs. a lot of people find the 3 & 4 series not enough of a change. audi's become pretty stale with the A4's and 5's. The one company i will give credit to is Chevy. I wouldn't drive one but they've come a pretty long way asthetically with their Malibus, Impalas, and Cobalt (now Cruze). I find all three pretty sharp looking (compared to previous generations). I think their SUV's and trucks are the best looking amongst the big three, but thats purely subjective. Oh well, too bad Chevy's are being built with our bailout money, losers. |

C&D is full of it. The GT will most likely get 430-450hp and will weigh about 3400lbs and will have the IRS. Also, that rendering/model is off as well. C&D is in the business of selling mags and this issue will sell for sure, but it is pure bullshit.
The 2015 mustang will likely be my next car regardless of the HP, so I hope I am wrong, but there is no way the coyote is going to produce 500hp from the factory in a GT.

There have been quite a few spy shots of the front end of the 2015 mustang and C&D's "official photos" are off compared to these. IRS has been confirmed by photos, so they are correct in this aspect. Also, it has been known that the coyote is returning most likely with DI and I just can't see it making 500hp. I hope this is true, but I can't see the GT with more HP than the Vette and also weighing less. Maybe a special edition, such as the GT350/Mach 1, will make 500hp, but I just can't see the GT making 500hp.

It looks very similar to the out going models, especially the rear. Thought the design was headed a completely different direction

I'm not convinced that this is an official render. There's something off about the greenhouse-to-body ratio, and the C-Pillar looks too thin and oddly surfaced.
I'll eat my shoe if this is the real deal. If I'm wrong and this is actually legit, then meh. Aside from certain elements, I'm not really crazy about it. Doesn't look as polished as the outgoing generation.

I actually like this rendering and hope that it ends up being true. That is a great looking Mustang.
