Range Rover Evoque? What do you guys think?
So I'm getting a head start and looking into a winter car. Really like the look of the Evoque but worried about the reliability of land rovers. But then again, my n54 isn't all that known to be reliable either. lol. It's been out since 2011 so I'm thinking any major problems would have started to arise. Anyways, what do you guys think of the car? Anyone on here own one? Know anyone that owns one? First hand feedback would be greatly appreciated.

My friend had a land rover, and I spend a lot of time getting their family home, when the car broke down. I loved to drive it, but the winters were too much for it. I hope they have improved since then, but that's the experience I had with the quality.
he cried of happiness when he traded that in, that just about sums up the cost of that car to their family. |

I'm not feeling it. One of my co-workers has the Range Rover sport, the other has the Evoque. Parked side by side the Evoque looks like a cartoon car. Still a nice looking car, just looks like it's been squished Lol

I think in terms of reliability, the Evoque is stages ahead of its predecessors from Land Rover if I'm not mistaken. I really like the looks, and I personally think it is a very attractive SUV for the times.
However, like others noted, I am also very attracted to the Macan, so I suppose it could boil down to which you think is more aesthetically pleasing and can be optioned to your liking within your budget. I think either of the two would make for great get around vehicles. |

Well, I would rather have one of those than the Q7, Range Rovers have a look that appeals to me, and the Audi looks like a pile of bits someone with a hangover put together and then glued the supercharged badge on just to make it sound exciting.

Hmm. For some reason I thought the Macan was a lot more expensive than the evoque but it's pretty much priced the same. But I've never really felt the Porsche look. The only one I like is the new boxers. They advertise the macan as a sports car which could be fun. Again, this would strictly be a winter car for me and wouldn't go too crazy..(at least that's what I say right now). Man now you guys got me thinking. lol

One of my favorites in looks, comfort and driving, the glass roof is incredible. Having owned a Range Rover though, I'd never want to own one again, I'd lease it instead and give it back in 3 years.

We looked at the Evoque, but due to cost we opted to get the Land Rover LR2 instead. Did a 4 year lease, this was about 1 year ago.
So far the truck has been absolutely great, aside from what I think might be a coolant leak as I had to top it off twice in the winter, but no issues since, so maybe it was just the ultra cold that shrunk a gasket or something and let some coolant through - I don't know. Otherwise, can't say much as its only been a year, but I do believe their quality has improved greatly in the past few years - can't say the same about older models though. I do like the look of the Evoque, even if it may look a little squished - just make sure the rear seats are ok for whatever purposes you plan to use them for (ie. car seats if so) because that was our concern a few years down the road - didn't know if we'd be able to fit them in. Otherwise, great looking SUV! |

The Evoque is underpowered but it looks great.
On the note of reliability, I always laugh when people say "it's way more reliable than their other models" when the thing has been out for like two years.

True, time will tell. I joined the evoque forum to get some inside info and it seems they have a known issue with the engine stalling in the rain? That's big problem. lol Doing more research.

Leave it to the Brits to make a car that stalls in the rain...
