![]() Louwman Museum Leidsestraatweg 57 2594 BB The Hague, The Netherlands http://www.louwmanmuseum.nl/?sc_lang=en Tel. +31 (0)70 - 304 7373 info@louwmanmuseum.nl Opening hours: From Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs. CLOSED on Mondays price: 14 euros. I had heard so many good things about the Louwman Museum... and it did not disappoint! This museum is right up there with the worlds finest museums!! It's that good! I would encourage anyone to visit it. It's was bit of a haul for me... (~700kms) ...but I combined it with a trip to Brussels and a WWII Military Museum in Oorlogsmuseum Overloon http://www.oorlogsmuseum.nl/ It made for a nice weekend! ![]() I must make a confession though... I visited the museum back in late December - its just taken me this long to get around to making up this review thread. I wanted to do the museum justice with my photos. I guess its perfect timing now that ED season is almost about to start! ![]() Anyways... back to the Louwman Museum... what a museum! Its a private museum but it rivals the best of any of the "factory" museums I've been to. Judge for yourself... but I really, really enjoyed this museum. Maybe its because I recognized some of the cars in teh collection from the now defunct/closed, Rosso Bianco Collection in Aschaffenburg/Germany. I had heard quite a few of the cars ended up at the Louwman Musuem. ![]() Btw... Jay Leno calls the Louwman Museum one of the best in the world. I would agree! I really enjoyed this museum because they had so much to offer the automotive junkie. Even for non car loving people (read: wife) there was a lot of cool displays in this museum. All I can say is this museum deserves a place on anyone's bucket list. I know I will be back! Besides the two "Swan cars" I was also shocked to see the oldest original Toyota known to exist. They also had quite a cool video of how the museum got its hands on that car. ![]() Enjoy my (many)photos, ![]() Dackel

Went there a couple years ago when my uncle was visiting us, it blew my mind how much they have in there! Seems the collection has grown too so I'll definitely have to revisit it when I'm back in NL

Wow, I see why it too so long to sort through the photos and get them posted. You did a fabulous job documenting and presenting this amazing collection. A real gift to the forum.
And thank you for including the McLaren M8F! I was on the look out for whatever cars might be there from the old Rosso-Bianco collection. Cheers |

Yea.... when I learned that the Louwman Museum had a McLaren M8F, I knew I had to go there! Then I learned that orange M8F was from the Rosso Bianco Museum. ![]() For those that do not know the Rosso Bianco Collection (in Aschaffenburg, Germany - near Frankfurt) was THE museum for classic sports cars and race cars. They had it ALL!!! Just look at this list... * largest Alfa Romeo-Collection in the world apart the factory museum * largest Lancia-Collection in Europe * largest Abarth-Collection in Germany * largest Lotus-Collection in Europe * largest Lola-Collection in the world * largest McLaren-Collection in the world * largest CanAm-/Interseries-Collection in the world * huge Porsche-Collection * important Zagato-Collection * lots of Ferraris, Maseratis and Lamborghinis * continuous motorcycle-exhibition (about. 50 Exp.) Here is a good website showing some of the cars Rosso had. Too bad the museum went belly up in 2006. http://www.hazelnet.org/rosso%20bianco/index.htm also checkout these museum's nearby the NL... We show you the Belgium Royal Military Museum in Brussels... http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1072285 We visit AUTOWORLD; Brussels, Belgium http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...0#post17579060 We visit Oorlogsmuseum in the Netherlands... http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...8#post17579028
