I need help from you high school/college guys on the forum...sorry for littering the Off Topic section with threads about my school, but I need help!

I've come up with a few different ideas, and here are few:

1.) Blackout '08 - School dance, which im hoping will raise close to $2000.

2.) "YHS Kings of Comedy" - A night where all the comedians in our school will have a chance to see whether their classmates think their funny. It will be hosted by my TOK teacher, who is one of the funniest guys I've ever met!

3.) Candy sales - this isn't authorized by the administrators at my school, but many teachers do it to raise money. The Italian Club raised $1000 in one month selling candy, and they didn't even advertise it!

EDIT:

4.) Teacher Spelling Bee - students will buy tickets for $2.00 each to see the teachers face-off in a spelling bee!

5.) Cookie sale - like a bake sale, with only fresh, home made cookies!

please include your own ideas, as well as sucessful fundraising ideas that you might have seen in the past. Thanks a lot!

+1 - I'm sure you have an "in house" dj that can spin for free for the cause of the event....

we have a dj that charges $350...hes really really good...ive paid dj's $600-800 for previous dances but this guy blows them out of the water! i dont know how much he usually charges, but for this school function he gave us a special price!

Thats cool, I think that would be a big event... depends how many kids you have.. 300+?
