So today our dealership Received several brand new X3’s. BMW should be ashamed on the quality of the Materials used throughout the entire interior. The entire lower dash is rough hard plastic, the sides of the center console, the upper B-pillars, the back of the seat back covers. The middle to lower inteior door cards. All of it hard cheap hollow cheap plastic.

The edges on the lower door panel/storage pockets are not even rounded off. You can see the edge where it has that little line that’s not buffed out and feels rough and sharp to the touch.

The new woven dashboard and upper part of the front and rear doors feels unsubstantial and thin.

Seriously I cannot understand how a car that costs $55k-$70k feels so cheap.

That's very disappointing to hear. And these are just the things you can see where they cut corners...makes you wonder about where you can't see it.

I wonder if BMW still use Aluminium in the body of the G45 like the previous gen ?

Anyone tried a magnet on the hood and front fenders ?

These cars are made for young Millennials and older Gen Z folks. They generally don't have a point of comparison unless older versions of these cars have been in the family for years.

This is definitely true...

Case in point people who buy teslas . They think the interior is amazing, drive is amazing, but its really basically awful, but young people don't know what good touch points and build quality are.

BMWs newest cars are still WAAAAAY better. So they just have to build to beat the competition. The new to cars people have no idea, and teh people driving old cars will have to eventually buy a new one someday

Possibly, but having asked some in those groups, the X3 G01 or G45 is not something they aspire to.

Here they would probably go Range Rover Evoque. ;)
