Considering how large X3 has become I hope BMW makes something smaller like a iX1 sooner than later

Wow, the latest spyshots, those curves and wheel arches looks great! I was worried based on the older spy shots that it may look too slab-sided, these new pictures the proportions are excellent. Can't wait to see this uncovered now.

Erebor wrote500 miles range?Yes, but ppl (in europe at least) want 500 mi range, so batteries weigh the same while being more energydense.
There will be sub 2t EV, but those will be rare (like the upcoming Cayman electric).
Europe daily average driving distance is 20.4 miles. Asking for 500 miles is ridiculous, unless you’re driving from Zurich to Paris on a daily basis (400 miles)

So production starts in 7/25 with x50 only? Or "only for US"?
Just astonished as I could imagine that e.g. x40/40 are (at least in Europe) the "most wanted" version due to potential price point (even so we've no speed limit in Germany
).
I'm not saying that there are no other profiles (frequent long trips, not charging possibility at home). But 500 miles are not at all useful for the 80-90% of drivers (my guess).

So I don't want to spend money of a power bank in the the garage which I don't need frequently. 200-250 *real* miles are just perfect, if you can charge fast (so a break after 3hous driving for 10mins.).500 miles range?

Surely, with that bulbous rear end, you’re losing interior space (width) plus it looks odd (like the iX) - why??

Looks like two different SUV’s - maybe two trim options? Different wheels and different front bumper profiles make me wonder what we’re looking at. Also curious what the sedan is in one of the shots…

I find it interesting that people are hoping for the first couple of Neue Klasse vehicles to achieve ranges in excess of 500-550 km on a charge.
I recently drove from Toronto to Sarasota and back and managed to achieve potential ranges (100% charges to 0%) of 539km on two occasions and 541km and 519km on two other while I was in the south. The average temperatures in Sarasota was in the mid-20s Celsius. Some of my other potential ranges were 458, 474, 495, 485, 455km, etc. My car is a 2024 i4 eDrive40 with 19" A/S tires.
Of course I didn't always charge to 100% and run the battery down to 0%, but if I charged the battery to 100% and drove 260km with a remaining SOC of 50%, my assumption is that I could have driven another 260km until the battery died.
I realize that speculation is about the iX3, but I would think that SUV and the i3 should have comparable ranges. I assumed that when BMW said that the NK vehicles will be able to go 30% further on a charge, my assumption was that I should be to drive 625-700km on a similarly configured vehicle in similar temperatures.
Am I missing something?

Cortexiphan wroteYes true. That's the typical fear of range that exists here. Alot of ppl can't charge at home and have to rely on public chargers, which are expensive, often broken and even more often occupied.500 miles range?

So, I too, want an EV with 500 mi range, so that i only have to charge once every 2 weeks. Just like i do with my ICE now.
