BMW has announced a recall of X3 2025 30 vehicles manufactured on or after 11 November 2024. The reason is the risk of cracks in the left front pivot bearing, which could lead to loss of steering control and an increased risk of an accident.
The problem was discovered in production by ZF Chassis Systems Duncan LLC, a subsidiary of ZF Friedrichshafen AG. The defect is related to improper formation of the area where the strut is inserted into the bearing.
BMW will replace the defective parts free of charge for owners of the affected vehicles. So far, no accidents related to this defect have been reported. Owners will receive official notifications from the company by January 27, 2025.

Thanks for the heads up! Has anyone seen this reflected yet on BMW USA's recall info site? https://my.bmwusa.com/safety-and-emission-recalls

My car was assembled in October so it's probably excluded from this recall based on the OP's info. I'm seeing nothing on the recall site for my VIN. Still, I'd like to be sure it's because it's indeed excluded, vs. the site not being updated yet.

You are fine. Only 2 vehicles are affected and they were assembled on November 11th.

Good to know. Mine was build November 14 and I was worried it might be affected. Hope to get it by mid of January

Mine has been built on November 11th, but is a European one, which I assume means it is not affected. As far as I understand it says BMW X3 30, which is the petrol version for the US

Now with the screenshot of the recall notice it's clear that it's only 2ea cars manufactured on 11th of November..

With the original posting it said: "BMW has announced a recall of X3 2025 30 vehicles manufactured on or after 11 November 2024"

This was a bit missleading as I've read that it affects the sum of 30 cars of X3 2025 which where manufactured in a undefined timeframe starting on November 11th

Now everything is clear and fine as I've ordered a M50.

Yes, I had the same impression that 30 cars in total are affected but it turned out the affected model is X3 30 (the US petrol version)

Don't misread what I posted. That information only pertains to US vehicles as that is where the OP I was responding to lives, there definitely can be another 28 of various models out there.

Will see if I will receive (hope not) any notification from the dealer once the car arrives to Europe.

BMW is recalling some 2025 X3 models due to a potential brake fluid leak that could cause the rear brakes to lose function, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects 192 vehicles, specifically the 2025 X3 30 xDrive and X3 M50 xDrive models, manufactured between February 6 and 7, 2025. The issue is caused by rear brake hoses that may have been improperly crimped by the supplier, potentially causing a leak. It could also interfere with the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), although the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) will automatically activate to help stop the vehicle.

BMW North America announced an emergency recall of 4,397 2025 model year vehicles in the United States. The reason is a possible weakening of the contact between the starter-generator and the battery in the mild-hybrid system.
The recall affects 3-, 4-, 5-Series sedans and the X3 crossover, manufactured from October 2024 to March 2025. According to NHTSA, the malfunction can lead to a sudden loss of power, engine stalling, or even overheating with the risk of fire.
The campaign starts on May 23. Owners will be offered free replacement or repair of problematic components. The manufacturer urges you to take the notification seriously - it's about road safety.

According to BMWBlog, the X3 30 xDrive is affected but not the X3 M50. In fact, it doesn't seem like any of the M Performance models across the various model series are affected.

Has anyone seen this recall show up for them yet on BMW's recall info site? https://my.bmwusa.com/safety-and-emission-recalls

This is due to the different drivetrain.

The european 20 and 20d are also affected as they all use the same 48V belt driven starter generator from Valeo China.

The PHEV, M50 and 40d use the integrated generator in the gearbox.

How can I figure out my actual date of build. Door jam only says 02/25.

Run your VIN through MDecoder or another VIN lookup.
