Any one else have this problem? My wife parks on the corner of a parking lot at her work which is beside a busy street. The alarm keeps getting triggered, I belive because the interior camera keeps sensing motion. I might have to cover the interior camera because I don't see anywhere to turn it off permanently. I know you can disable the alarm by locking the car and then pressing lock again on the key fob or something like that, but my wife isn't going to do that.

There is a software upgrade I'm going to do tonight also, maybe it has some updates.

That's odd. The interior motion sensor isn't based on the camera view. The camera is only used to snap and transmit a photo when the interior motion sensor is triggered. But the motion sensor itself is separate from the camera and shouldn't be triggered by external motion.

I've parked my car so far in a broad variety of situations, including street parking on a busy downtown street. I've yet to receive any alarms from the anti-theft system.

Perhaps you should bring this to the dealer? Maybe there's something wrong with the interior motion sensor.

EDIT: Might also be the tilt sensor, which I believe can trigger the alarm as well.

Not that it's related but I got an alert about the alarm going off in my apartment building. I ran down to the garage and nothing was wrong. I checked my dash camera which has a parking mode and senses motion. (Thinkware U300) and someone's was revving their motorcycle. Maybe just noisy exhaust?

Possibly. Did software update last night. Will have to see if it makes any difference. No alarms today yet, but she may have pressed to "one time deactivate" when getting out of the car.

My car did this once a few months ago, then twice last night. Once at 9 pm when I came downstairs and noticed it was flashing, and once at 4 am when I got up to use the restroom and saw it flashing. We live in the middle of the country with a few neighbors but it's dark and there was nothing that could've triggered it. My camera in the front of the garage didn't pick up anything. I don't have an update available for my car so I have an inquiry out with the dealer to see what the next steps are.

I updated to new software a few days ago and so far no more false alarms. So will have to see.

I have been having random alarms as well. No noticeable triggers. I now turn off the alarm when I park, but I wish I could disable it permanently.
OS for new BMW is generally kind of buggy, but I’m not sure that is related to the alarm issue.

And, today ours is going off randomly again. My wife doesn't remember to disarm it upon exiting. I can't believe they don't offer a setting to permanently disable.

Same here. I got four notifications yesterday at random times that my alarm was triggered (it was in my parking garage at work). I saw the camera feed and I can't see anything that triggered it.

Going through the same ordeal right now. It’s done it about a dozen times since midnight. I’ve had the car for a week and a half too and haven’t had an issue unti today.

The only thing that I can think of is that a cold front came though overnight and there’s been 20-30 mph winds. I’m not sure why it would be setting the alarm off while parked in the garage aside from maybe the vibrations of the garage door with the wind. But I’ve been at the gym for the last hour and a half and it’s gone off 4 times.

Has anyone been able to figure there’s out yet?

Mine went off when I started driving with my wife. Went into a store came out and the car was alarming when I started to drive off. Lights flashing , alarm going off. Pulled over stoped the car and turned it off . Started driving again same issue. The only way it stoped was I removed the key fob from my front pocket and put in the cup holder. Has not done it since . I have a base 30 with no interior camera.

Now it's going off about every 30 minutes and driving me absolutely insane. I've tried keeping the key in the car but it'll still go off. What the hell is happening

curious...does it go off even if you keep your door unlocked? as in don't arm the alarm.

Doesn't appear to, but the car won't stay unlocked for very long.

Although disabling the tilt alarm/interior motion sensor seems to have fixed the problem. I did this over an hour ago and it has yet to go off.

thanks for sharing. i guess it's not too annoying to press the lock button twice every time you leave your car.

did your car do an update recently? wonder if it changed the sensitivity of the interior camera and it's picking up movement outside.

I checked and the last one says 11/2024 for the software version and nothing is pulling up when searching for new updates. The car has a Production Date of January 30th.

It's a temporary fix but if you ever walk by the car with the key or your phone, it unlocks/locks and then you have to do it all over again. Wish I could figure out why it keeps getting tripped.

you can disable that feature no? i have that on my X7 and i hate it. i like to just pull on the door handle to open and lock manually via door sensor or key fob.

Yep, I went into iDrive and disabled it as well. Ever since that, and just always disabling the tilt sensor after setting the alarm it has yet to go off again.
