From the description I was given, yes, but I don't know how easy/quick is the attachment system. I was told it will blend in to look fully finished when installed. I will install it on day 1 and it will be permanent. The only better option would be if they allow sunroof delete for a fully steel roof!
Beg to differ, the better option is to have a proper opening sunroof with a sliding shade, rather than following the trend :(

I should have said "better for me". Apologies. There is no such thing as an objective "better". All opinions by humans are inherently subjective. In this case, the difference in climate makes one choice subjectively preferable for you, while the opposite is true here where temperatures can reach 120F in Summer. In my two current BMWs with sunroofs, they are never open, nor revealed by sliding the shade. Never. We particularly ordered my wife's Macan with a steel roof, a choice Porsche offers that BMW should follow. A steel roof vs. a sunroof also increases interior headroom in the absence of the module effectively lowering the headliner, creating another subjective preference difference if one is underendowed with height.
We'll probably have more „luck“ in Germany. :D
The panoramic roof will be an additional feature here. And it won't be openable either. Like the G60.

Agree, likewise a proper sunroof is the only choice for me, not a big pane of glass with limited photochromic capability or a gloomy interior.

Other brands can do this, albeit not many choose to do so, unfortunately.

Horses for courses, unless you are BMW.

I had to look that one up, but now that I know what it means, I agree!
Today at BMW Welt in Munich.

I'm so ready for this unveiling. I hope BMW doesn't fucking ruin the interior like they did on the x3.

I'm holding out hope that an iX3 will make sense next. Otherwise I guess it's Rivian or Lucid.
Can anyone confirm if it'll be able to connect to home WiFi like a Tesla? Current models like the IX or I4 wireless functions only work with cell service.

The current teaser.
I guess we will see in a couple of years or so if it is the start of a new era or the end of one. As long as they don't get too carried away with cost costing/cheap materials they probably will be okay.
Well the iX3 at least has metal door handles and from the clips a more upmarket feel than the new X3 full of plastic fantastic. I believe they are already going to “fix” the quality of the interior on it in the LCI.

It’d more than disappointing.

Looking forward to to the reveal a pause on the video above the blue colour looks great and the rear lights excellent a lot to like.

It's a good car. Stay tuned on Friday. I got 2 videos with it
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Ocean Wave Blue color is a new BMW color and not offered on any current model, right? For those that have seen it in person, how does it compare to Arctic Race Blue? I’m very familiar with Arctic Race Blue because that’s the color of my X3.

No one who's bought an EV wants to go back to ICE.
.
I did from Model S. I know other people who did. You can check both Tesla and BMW forums. In the US most EVs are second cars, people still buy ICE and it does not make sense to own one unless you also own home with garage for charging.

I have read the entire thread, people quote serious documents to you and all you post back is links to Wikipedia or news from EV sites.

C&D recently tested long term trip in Lyriq and at 75 mph over 500 miles cost of charging was over $200 which is twice what would gas cost over same distance in 27-30 mpg highway car.

Drive Optiq (I did) and observe all the heavy cost cutting that GM has to do in order to make EV cheaper. Compare soft plastic in A6 Allroad to hard door of A6 e-tron to feel the difference.

The last large-sample survey data our company had showed a 19% defection rate among EV owners who intend for their subsequent vehicle to be ICE. That sample may include (presumably young) first-time owners who chose EV as their first vehicle as well as others who have owned multiple vehicles in their lives.

Whether the proverbial "cup" is 81% "full" or 19% "empty" is a matter of interpretation. Rates of defection from one vehicle segment to another are often higher.

In my neighborhood all people who own EV also own ICE car. Typically EV to drive to work and big family SUV for outings and sport. Like Model Y + Toyota ICE SUV, Model S + Subaru Accent, BMW i3 + Volvo XC90, that kind of stuff.

When my wife had to drive relatively far in her somewhat short range EV I looked up charging stations for her just in case. What I found was that only Tesla Supercharger was reliable. 5 other stations had 1-star reviews in Google as they either didn't exist, didn't work, were taken (too few outlets), crashed, refused to accept Blink or other cards, or took payment and yet didn't charge... :confused2
The information suggests iX3 M60 in 7/26 (July 2026). Does that mean orderable from that date, or start of delivery that date, or something else?

Start of production.
The next price list will be released in Germany in May. The M60 should be included by then. Hopefully.
I will report back.
In my house, two always involved in the purchase, and unless things change by time I can order in US I can’t get the M Sport with Interior Design Essential - Vivid Grey: Seats in Econeer Vivid Grey, if only for non M version. Trying to stay away from dark, and reddish color not option for us either.
Is the expected start of production date for the M60 still 7/26? Would be nice if it can be ordered this summer. Living in the Netherlands.

If it still is, then announcement is imminent since the 40 has the same production date and has already been announced
