I would still like my phone to be mounted where I can see it. I've seen an A-tech mount from the US that seems to work but doesn't look great. Surely any device needs to "sit in the air vent slot.

Has anyone any information about one that's available in the UK or Europe?

I purchased this one, but haven't received it yet, so I can't give you a firsthand opinion:

I got the phone mount from Ali Express for £3.50 - which included the actual phone gripper.

I wasn't expecting much but its absolutely bloody perfect!!!!

If you need a simple phone mount that makes no mess of the car trim yet is spot on for the job then I thoroughly recommend the AliExpress one shown in the post above!!!

The actual fitting is a small piece of plastic that sits on the Aircon channel.

You can then attach any phone mount you like to that fitting. I use a standard gripping mount and then have a 30cm cable to plug my phone in but I am considering a wireless mount that will stay plugged in.

I also bought a wireless charger mount so that I do not have to keep plugging and unplugging the cable.

Got that on AliExpress too for £8. So total set up £13 and it's perfect

Can you post some pics of how it looks? Seems like the phone would be blocking the touch screen quite a bit if you need to use it, no?

Here you can get a very good solution from
Brodit. It’s German language but you get these everywhere.

There is a base mount individually for the G45 an then you mount the attachment for you Smartphone. Even MagSafe is available.

I drive these for years in different cars. Always perfect.

Because it’s a universal part. It doesn’t matter if your LHD or RHD

if that’s the case, brodit’s spec does not make any sense.

I ended up buying the Brodit. I put it as far to the left as possible (I have left-hand drive), because otherwise it would cover the air vent, emergency, and window defogger buttons.
Where I put it, you can't see the phone if you don't move your head, but it's the only possible place without covering the car's buttons... and I only want it if I need to check something with the car stopped or set destinations in Android Auto.
Plus, you have to put the phone holder as low as possible so that when you put the phone in, it doesn't cover the car screen... and even then, the driver's temperature button is hidden.
Anyway, it's not perfect, but it's the only thing I'm happy with so far.
The plastic of the holder itself is good and stays put. I haven't applied the adhesives yet, and it doesn't move.
Here's a photo of it in place.

Thw one I have from AliExpress sits lower than the one above. I dont use the adhesive either and just move it if I need to get to a button behind it.

Along with a wireless charger and a 5cm Usb C to C cable its perfect The charger I have even opens and closes its gripper arms when I start and stop!!

Thanks for sharing. I ended up getting one of those cup holder phone mounts. You lose one cup holder but it seems to work well for me.

It’s not blocking any vents, displays or buttons and is easily reachable if needed. Also can use a shorter charging cable since it’s close to the tray.

This is the one I got -

Well, I wouldn't rule out buying one of those you mentioned. This one from Brodit works, but I'm not entirely convinced...

Does Pro-Clip not ship to Europe? Best I have found in the USA. Not cheap, but solid.
