Today I took my X3M50 for the 1,200 miles "Break In Service" as indicated in the owner's manual (the pdf version). To my surprise, I was told the X3M50 does NOT require the "Break In Service". I went ahead and had the Engine Oil and Filter changed since I am "old school". So, then there is this interesting issue I just discovered:
The X3M50 I got came from the factory without wheel locks, and I decided to buy the "optional" wheel locks and then Install them myself (the dealer charges $100.00 to do so).As I was Installing the wheel locks I noticed that the torque on all the lug bolts for the wheels on the DRIVER'S SIDE of the X3 NEEDED TO BE RE-TORQUED o the 101bs Ft/140Nm.
ALL of the lug bolts on the PASSENGER SIDE of the X3 were AT the correct Torque.
My X3 has 1,185 Miles and 3 months of use. So, this isn't even on the list of items to be checked AT ALL. I am glad that I decided to buy and Install the wheel locks myself.
This should be a 'F Y I" for all , and beware that evidently; close attention is due to all the wheel lugs ON ANY VEHICLE.

Don’t forget that after tightening the lug nuts, you should re-check their torque after driving 30–60 miles.

Out of curiosity, if I wanted to pickup the right torque wrench for the 2025 X3 m50, what should I be looking for and how do I know what the right setting is?

As the X3 M50 is not a real M car there is no requirement for a 1200 mile break in service.

What is correct torque in ft/lb?

On G01, 100 ft-lb, on F87, 100 ft-lb. G45 is also 100 ft-lb. I checked also for iX3 and it is still 100 ft-lb. Pretty consistant across the board for the ones I had, have and will have.

Recommended for the G45 is 100 to 103ft-lb

Thanks. I should check mine. I've driven about 300 miles since delivery.
