Hi. I just purchased a 2026 BMW X3 a few days ago. Love the car. Lots to learn about the operating system.
I want to install a horizontal cargo net (envelope style), but there are no hooks for this in the cargo area. Has anyone installed hooks for this kind of net?

Other than the bag hooks, I don't see any tie-downs. I use the reversible cargo mat with the velcro foam sticks to hold things in place. I really like it:

I'm very sure my car has tie downs in all 4 corners as I strapped my dog transport box to it.

I've made a screenshot from a youtube review video wher you can see the fwd ones:

I'd like to install this kind of cargo net. I've always found it to be very handy in my other cars. I'd need to install upper hooks (lower hooks really aren't necessary).

You dont' have the hooks there? I was not aware they were an option. They are not fantastic TBH, they are folded "the wrong way", so as demonstrated with this net (wich doesn't come with the car, but was 5 GBP on aliexpress) the tensors are not flat to the bottom of the trunk when empty.

Another "design feature" *cough cough*

Strange. My US market 2025 X3 30 definitely came with cargo net hooks. I then went to the dealer and got the “large” cargo net. I think it was about $50.

Sure, my car has those hooks as well, but I want to install an envelope-style mesh net like the photo in my post #4. Many cars have the hooks already installed for this kind of net. My question is if anyone has installed hooks on their G45 for this net?

I was thinking about something like this hook (BMW part #51477258562):

Hi all,
I'm trying to have something like that in my G45 X3 30e in Switzerland, but, I don't have the "hooks" on the back (close to the back seats) ... (or I am blind?!) ... I only seem to have the hooks on the front, towards the end of the car where the door opens up. (inside each of the side meshed pockets.)

I was actually also looking for a solution to hang/secure 2 large umbrellas in the trunk space.. but right now they are loose because of no hooks for it.

Any ideas/suggestions/links, please?

I also had writen to CanvasBack to inquire about a cover for my model, but seems the EU/CH model is different than the one in the US, so they did not have/offer. Does anyone know anything similar that would work for me?

Thanks in advance,

I got these hooks for the envelope cargo net. I think I'll install them above the hatch lights. First, I'll pop out the lights to be sure I'm clear to drill a small hole. Does anyone have comments or suggestions before I do the deed?

thanks. i had seen it before and ordered. very flimsy... and to be honest my umbrella is a tad shorter so did not work well for me. thanks.

will look for cargonet instead... but not very practical either because i have the OEM all weather mat in the trunk, and the back two hooks are in the floor, under the mat, so, not practical :(

I agree, an upper mounting point is needed. I love the envelope net in my other SUV and wish BMW would have included one. I await the results of your project. BTW, is that the best hook you could find?

I found these hooks and installed them above the cargo area lights. Happy with the outcome!
