Spent the last week with the OEM BMW black crossbars and Thule Snowpack ski rack, looks and works great!
I've got the OEM BMW black crossbars and Thule Motion 3 XL low roof box.

Thanks! And we've got the same car (hope my comments on the M fender badges was helpful. Suggest you complete the look with the painted front reflectors too, it's Euro spec and really cleans up the front end).

I like that a lot. I saw your previous post re IND Distribution. Will check it out!

Cool! I don't have the skills or patience for warming up the fender, coaxing the old one out, cleaning the residue, etc. so I just go to a local BMW mod shop and they do it for me for a couple of bucks in about an hour.

Yep, I will most likely do the same. I just realized I didn’t answer any of the questions in your opening post.

Clearance: The garage that I park in has a 7 ft 2 in height restriction and I am well under it. I would estimate by 6 inches. No issues.

Tailgate clearance: Non issue. The Thule Motion 3 series has a forward/backward sliding crossbar clamp section. I have my XL low box pushed all the way to the rear of the car and I still have at least a 3 in gap when the tailgate is fully open.

Wind noise: I suspect noticeable at higher speeds (80 mph+). I was driving at 70 mph for about 10 minutes today and had climate control set to level 3 and music on and didn’t notice any wind noise. I’ll provide an update the next time I’m on the highway for 1+ hour.
