Here's a close look at the interior of the 2028 X3 M (ZA5) prototype, which reveals M1 / M2 buttons on the M Performance steering wheel and M logos on the seats (still under tape coverings).

What we know about the ZA5 X3 M neue klasse so far (from latest updates in the [URL="https://g45.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?
t=901686"]Future BMW models information Thread[/URL]
:
• ZA5 X3M and ZAO M3 EV will have the same motors.
• The motor setup on the full-M EV cars will differ from all other EV models (ZAO, ZA5, G95/G96 will use the same family of motors, though G95/G96 will likely differ in performance from ZAO/ZA5).
• ZA5 X3M starts production in 11/27 at the Debrecen plant in Hungary.

Also see earlier sighting of the ZA5 X3M testing on the Nurburgring with Pirelli Pzero R tires.

Hoping they keep the M styled side mirrors / hated when they did that to the X3 M40 right after I ponied up to the X3MC 🥲 (hence the SPY 😂) not sure if I’d give up my baby for an EV though - I like to think of it as a roller coaster vs go karting - sure the EV is faster but the joy you feel is gone in 10 seconds - but the thrill of feeling your vehicle move around the track that’s like ICE. Both are fun in a different way 🤷🏻‍♀️

These ridiculous steering wheels are reason enough to go elsewhere. Just gross.

For anyone else wondering, the sticker on the steering wheel is not a threat to be beaten, but translates to:

“Before driving, be sure to observe the instructions in the flyer under the sun visor!”

That A pillar headliner straight out of a 90s Elantra? Could you get any cheaper looking. My god. Don’t even think about getting Alcantara in this M car. Not that 3 series Ms had this but this version is definitely not going upward

WoW! FINALLY!! Looks like BMW finally paid a little homage to their "Headrests" from the late 70s and early 80s!

See the resemblance in Bimmerpost photo #3 of this post!

It would be odd for them to not put the new flat-bottom steering wheel in; must be a placeholder, unless it's one of those weird flat top and bottom wheels.

BMW, please change out that old man looking steering wheel and put in a better looking one! AND don’t add an extra spoke on top like you did with the other ix3…. Try not to be stupid and listen to what your customers are telling you. Thank you! 🙂

Did anyone notice the split armrest/storage area vs the solid one which appears in the online configurator?
