A colleague has an i4 and he was shocked how quickly it went through tyres, his was RWD only as well. As others have said some tyres do last longer but the instant torque and weight if an EV can be big factors in tyre wear.
When I first got my iX1, most of the time I was enjoying the rapid acceleration, demonstrating to friends etc.
Ended up changing front tyres after 6000 miles.
Now done 14,000 miles, rear still original, front looking good.
Tyre wear depends on that right foot

It is hard to control yourself to accelerate "normally" in an EV because it just doesn't feel abusive when you are a little more aggressive on the acceleration. The lack of high revs from a gas engine and lack of shifting gears makes it feel normal when it is more on the aggressive side.

I've had two different friends have the issue with their Chevy Volts and wonder why they used their tires up so fast. Whenever I would ask them if they were accelerating aggressively, they'd say no. But all I had to do is be in the car or next to them on the road and it was obvious that they were accelerating much quicker off the line than they would in a gas car when driving "normally".

I know, I accelerate slowly - or so I think - but then see car behind disappearing in the distance

Enjoy a few pictures of the iX3 I test drove yesterday. I was glad to see it in M Brooklyn Grey since that’s the colour I ordered. I was also positively surprised by the “standard” seats, which offered more support than expected.

The AI says:
The new BMW iX3 (New Class, from 2025/2026) features a redesigned center console with two cupholders in the front. These are separated by an illuminated, triangular trim element and are located in front of the drive mode selector and the inductive charging pad, emphasizing the progressive, uncluttered interior concept.

Seats in that car are the Contemporary Schwarz/Atlasgrau ones. Not my thing to be honest, but to each their own. I picked the M Schwarz seats for mine.

Anyone that have seen (have pictures) of the newly added colors? I'm interested in getting a view of the Eucalyptus green, as I have one such being delivered to me within some weeks. :)

I think all of us who have ordered it are waiting for decent pictures. I am not sure there is one on the road yet. All the pictures I have seen have been AI or renders. One of the problems is that the render in showroom just looks dark grey but other pictures vary between greeny/grey and light green. There was a short U Tube Video posted on here which may have been Eucalyptus but they didn't actually say it was in video and it looked pretty grey. You may well be the first person to actually get one so would love to see pictures of it in different lights. I'm still wavering between Eucalyptus and Space Silver with time to swap. I did see a Mini in what some say is the same colour as Eucalyptus Green (but is has a different name and BMW claim Eucalyptus is a new colour) and it was a very nice a dark greeny grey but looked good in full sun.

That's the one I was referring too. I don't think he actually says its Eucayptus but I agree it probably is but its a bit brief and indoors. It was a Mini Countryman I saw and liked. Do we know if it is definitely the same as I saw a BMW interview when they claimed Eucalyptus was a totally new colour.

Many thanks. That's very encouraging. I drove behind and alongside it on the motorway in bright sunshine and it looked really good.

With so many requests for photos and colours those that have their cars already let’s share a few photos. No there won’t be any funky individual colours yet but would be great to see a few more in different lights and in the sun.

Has anybody been able to turn off the iconic glow around the kidneys/whiskers? There's been some talk about turning off all the lights except for the snake eyes and if it gives a more "sinister" look to the car, but i'm curious if it can actually be done. Can anybody share if they've been able to turn those off?

At least in our case, you can turn the glow on and off.
