Nice extra review of the iX3 in BMWBLOG, in contrast to some people’s thoughts on the seats he loves the overall again a great car.

Whatever color it is it's pretty nondescript...not their best work given it's an optional, added-charge color.

So people have had the cars for a month ish now how are they finding things?

Is the Hifi good or rubbish, is the Harmon worth the upgrade to get the HUD etc. ?
The ride is what, good compared to x bad compared to something else. ?
Any bugs or issues anyone has found that need sorting?

Would be great to hear from those with a car.
So I picked mine up on the 9th March and have just gone over 1k miles.

For the range worriers, my longest trip was a 350m ish round trip in a day which left me with around 30m range from full. My spec inc's 22" wheels, glass roof and tow bar, I didn't spec it for max range as lets be honest, who is driving 400+ miles without stopping. I've had an iX3 since Sept 2021 and never had issues with range, i charge it, drive it, charge it again.

I'm no expert in sound systems, i think the Harmon is fine. I do have the HUD and use it, slight double up of info from the panoramic display but i don't see that as an issue.

On the 22" wheels its a firmer ride and you feel more of the road but that doesn't bother me, on a good road, its a dream!

I had an issue with carplay not working after 5 weeks, connectivity was patchy then just stopped connecting (had the same issue with my old iX3) but did a reset and its working fine again. I've mentioned it on here before about storage space in the front being a lot less than my previous iX3, which is slightly annoying, but also means i will keep less 'stuff' in the car. The under arm rest, open area for storage is very annoying to get things in and out of.

Car has already come up saying washer fluid low, i don't think I've used it a lot so either BMW / dealer didn't fill it before collection or its a small 'tank'.

Overall I am very happy with it!

Nice update, I think there are a few early issues with the car and the software but they will get ironed out and I suspect they will add even more features.

Range and ride being good with put some peoples mind at rest but its a very subjective thing. My wife's X1 is generally ok but it doesn't take small bumps too well compared to my X3 so will be interested to see the comparison for myself. Hifi wise again I want to get something that is ok for a car, if I want amazing I will listen at home, though a little more power in that department wouldn't go amiss or a more premium setup for some to buy, but I suspect demand is low or they would offer it.

Had mine for just over a week.
Harmon Kardon is night and day different to the iX1 - be even better if I was capable of setting equaliser.
On 20" wheels don't really feel the bumps, know I have driven over large ones, but don't really feel them.
Still love the HUD
Issue with recording a parking routine, fix coming in next update apparently.
Couldn't find app for speed camera, it is built into system and there are no settings for it.
Only way to turn off unlock on approach is to turn off passive entry in phone wallet. Handles still retract when touched.
Turned off light orchestration as it performed when I got close while still in house.
Comfort exit for driver seat, I could not find how to turn it on, apparently it is no longer available.
Used park assist a few times, really impressed.
I was carrying charging cable and 240v charger in Frunk - quite a weight, thought in 3 years never used them with iX1, so have removed them.
Really happy with car, a joy to drive

Great to hear its meeting all of your expectations, so the HK in the iX3 is better than the X1 is it, nice to hear if so as hers is fine for most times.

The issue I have with my current X3 is it sounds terrible low down, turn it up and its great but it needs to be turned up too loud to really hit its stride its like it turns on a loudness / bass boost higher not lower, so will be interested to see what that is like. I've got the 21" wheels coming so they might be a little firmer but the X1 is acceptable if a little rougher around the edges so if it's better than that I'm all good.

Glad you are enjoying it!

Yes it says safety camera information not alerts, I believe this just shows fixed cameras on the map. The payment made on my X5'S , £50 a year gives alerts and countdowns to the cameras.

There is another thread it alerts to the presence of the speed cameras not just shows them on a map it is alerting. It doesn't appear to be possible to configure it as people want though as much as you can in prior models, suspect an update to get that it seems.

Wife has ID8 in hers and you get them on the map and it alerts in the HUD and makes a sounds, early X1 release iD9 is the later one, surprised they have removed it. It did take some searching to find the option but it's there. Had to change the sound of something un-related to get the sound part but it's there for her anyway. £20 a year I think, I've renewed it on black Friday for both cars, mine does the same as hers on ID7 with alerts, not sure I see them in the map though would have to check.

Speed cameras show on map, when near Camera alert shows on panoramic screen and HUD.
This is the reply from Connected Drive
There's no audible warning, or separate vehicle app for the Safety Camera, however it does display on the screen, panoramic iDrive and head-up display.

Not on operating system 9 and it appears reading the posts from owners not on operating system X, cameras show on map but NO alerts anywhere.

As Robe has mentioned you get the alert displaying but no sound, a quick look in he U11 forum the same happens in iD9, you get the alert in the dash / HUD but no sound, ID8/ID7 you get a sound and an alert and countdown in the HUD. Not sure what 8.5 does mind, I think that does the same as ID7/8.

Maybe a sidetrack, but still:
The Waze app shows and gives a verbal warning when approaching speed cameras. For free. I guess it is available on iPhone. It is on Android.
At least it does in Sweden.
