Hi all.
As an owner of a G21 M340i I'm facing multiplu disconnections with Android auto related to the wifi channel used by BMW -> channel 155.
Today I went to look at the NA5 at my local garage and by scanning the Wifi of the car I saw that it is unfortunately using as well wifi channel 155.
As there is no known location close by the dealer I wasn't able to test if I'm facing the same type of disconnections that I have on my m340i.
That some of you who owns or who tried the NA5 had faced such disconnections using Android auto or apple carplay?
Thanks.
Thierry.

No issues that I noticed, could bluetooth be the issue?

Not sure what channel 155 is / relates too, but is that an issue? What do you mean by known location close by to test it?
I've had my new iX3 for around 5/6 weeks now and over the last week or so its very hit and miss with connecting to apple car play. Some days perfect, other days I am prompted on the cars screen to activate the wifi in order to use car play. My last two journeys it wont connect at all. Very annoying when a week or so ago it was perfect, connecting straight away and now nothing has changed but its playing up.

Thanks
tc_303 for the heads up on the Carplay issues. I'm in my second EV, my wife in her first, with an iX3 on order, and Carplay connectivity is a consistent issue. My sense is the primary cause of the issues for me have been mobile/cellular connectivity. In my garage the mobile signal is weak, and while the speed/capacity into the handset is sufficient to hold a voice call and do basic messaging, it is not sufficient to load a YouTube video (ie video streaming). Carplay seems to need mobile speeds and capacity capable of supporting video streaming and when those conditions don't exist, it just does not connect. Sometimes the vehicle connects to CarPlay in my garage and sometimes it doesn't, and I believe this is due to mobile network performance. Additionally if Carplay has not connected at vehicle startup and I drive away, even though the mobile signal becomes strong at the top of my driveway, it usually takes a couple of minutes of driving before Carplay connects. While I could put this issue at the feet of BMW, I think it is more to do with the Carplay architecture. The challenges I've had are consistent across multiple EV's in my garage.

Ozzie8 wroteCarPlay connects to the car using a combination of Bluetooth and Wifi. There should be zero correlation between connection and mobile signal. Mobile signal will affect what your phone's apps do when it is connected to the car, but it should not affect the actual connection to the car.Sometimes the vehicle connects to CarPlay in my garage and sometimes it doesn't, and I believe this is due to mobile network performance

So I spoke with BMW via the online chat yesterday, first person said restart the phone, if that doesn't work delete phone from the car, delete car from the phone and re connect etc. I had been doing this before with no luck and now with trying to reconnect the phone to the car the phone was displaying the code but the car connection kept failing, definitely an issue on the car side. I spoke to someone else after a while who suggested I did a hard reset of the system in the car by holding down the volume toggle for 30 seconds and then letting it reload. This worked as the phone connected straight away.
Good to know there is a fix for it but really hope I don't have these issues every few weeks. (first world problems and all that, but its very annoying when something works perfectly one journey then wont work at all on the next for no apparent reason)

i have connectivity issues with BMW, Audi, Toyota, Kia, everything.
when you start the car it will do the connection thingy and if you interrupt it, it won't connect and there's nothing you can do other than turn off the car and start the car again. restarting the phone i don't recall whether it works i think i have tried but i think i found it easier to stop the car (make sure idrive turns off, eg open the door etc) and restart the car!
