hi i am about to put in an order for the AWD M50 iX3
can i please ask if the 20" aero wheels is the way to go for better range (standard is 20" M-light).
the other question is M sport seats vs multifunction seats - which one is better for comfort? i am thinking the multifunction seats at the moment.
also weighing up alpine white (free!) or space silver vs eucalyptus green if i were to fork out another 1.5% of the car price.
thanks

Never understood the hype around it as there are a lot of beautiful whites also available. Though not yet for iX3.

Colour go for what YOU want, who cares what anyone else thinks. Grey from the comment above is a primer to me, I don’t like it at all. But that’s my option ion and it shouldn’t matter.
Ironically I nor, ally don’t like white but in the dealer preview they had the white and as a contrast to the black I actually thought it looked great as a contrast as does the silver they both suit the car really well.
Wheels there is a range indicator at the top of the spec page in the uk at least. If that is your aim use that for the best options. Even a pano roof drops the range down.

thanks i will look at the uk website. sadly where i live there is no option to go without pano roof, and no option for the base aero wheels ... but that range indicator with options selection should be useful!

To get the quoted 500 mile WLTP range it has to be 20" aero wheels, basix IX3 (not M or M sport) and definitely no sun roof. That's what I have gone for.
colour as others have said is upto you. I am also wavering between Space Silver and Eucalyptus.
Seats you really need to try. I found the multi function ones far more comfortable than the M Sport ones but others have different views. Depends if you want to be more held in a firm seat or more space in a softer one.

if anyone is able to select these options would you please let me know the estimated range? my local website says 805km which sounds like is completely untrue seeing that the minimum option allowed is the above. (and of course they can charge us more)

There is a 2 mile difference in WLTP range (492 without, 490 with) so nothing to worry about. If you want the glass, get it, if not don't.

We've had several EVs now with the panoramic roof and the issue with all of them is that you really don't see what's above you because the front portion of the roof is solid metal. Given a choice I'd skip it.

kindofblue wroteFor me the panoramic roof isn't about seeing, it's about the better ambiance from a more open feel in the car. I find them worthwhile, although not being able to adjust opacity in the iX3 worries me a bit and I'll have to test it.We've had several EVs now with the panoramic roof and the issue with all of them is that you really don't see what's above you because the front portion of the roof is solid metal. We had a panoramic roof in our Tesla MY (a dreadful car BTW and traded for an i4) and currently have one on our Mach-e and neither was an issue with the heat even in 100F weather (on trips).

I once owned a BMW wagon with a moonroof and now drive a Macan without one. I never found any value in the moonroof. When I drive I'm looking straight ahead and nothing around me exists. For that reason I also always choose a black interior. Totally subjective.
