For the US market what is the approximate time span between early receipt of a model with the steel suspension and early receipt of a model with the adaptive suspension?

For reference, I own a 2019 base Macan with adaptive air suspension. I can bomb over the many speed bumps scattered around the city where I live. I once took a day trip into the mountains with a Macan that had a steel suspension: it felt a little tighter on turns at high speed and a bit rougher for normal driving. I don't do a lot of driving on mountain roads at high speed.

A few years ago I test drove an X3 (probably a G01) on behalf of elderly friends who were car shopping and I was dismayed at how stiff the ride was. I found it to be downright unpleasant.

Quite a few reviewers remarked that the ride on the iX3 feels stiff. Plenty more didn't report that experience, although if you read between the lines many were actually saying the ride wasn't as stiff as they expected and they appreciated the sporting handling. The problem is, with the steel suspension you're stuck with that experience.

So, how many of you would prefer the adaptive suspension and might be willing to wait for it?

First thing is many SUVs can feel stiffer as they are dealing with more mass, not all but many.

The adaptive isn't due until the release / announcement of the iX3 60 or M lite I think it will be called in the middle of the year, when deliveries happen and build not sure. Will that trickle to other models I presume so.

It's weird if you look at the forums and many reviews and side by side they often mention how good the ride is. There was one recently against an Audi Q6 E-tron and how much better the ride was, so time will tell if adaptive goes softer / better, probably but we won't know for a while yet.

Since I didn't want to wait until the adaptive suspension was available in other models, I opted for the standard suspension with 20" wheels.
However, how it feels is as subjective as colors, seats, etc. You'll definitely have to try it out for yourself.
