while the EV wheels run on the 108kWh battery, the EV itself runs on a small battery eg 12V lead acid, AGM, 48V Li-ion battery etc, if it goes flat the EV won't work.
does the iX3 have ways to mitigate that? like a jumpstart from the high voltage battery to the 12V or some other clever tricks?

G30M wrotein normal conditions, the 12V battery is always topped up by the high voltage battery. But the 12V is what would control the brains of the vehicle so if it does do flat, the car is bricked.while the EV wheels run on the 108kWh battery, the EV itself runs on a small battery eg 12V lead acid, AGM, 48V Li-ion battery etc, if it goes flat the EV won't work.

I assume the 12V is under the hood, so if it does happen you can use the manual key to open the car, pop the hood manually and you should be ale to undo a plastic panel or two and access the 12V to boost it/replace it.
To the best of my knowledge, BMW EVs have not had issues maintaining their 12V batteries, unlike a few other brands.

The 12v battery is Li-ion and lives under the dash in the middle of the car I believe.
