Because they might get a lorry load of X at 9am to then load the next X hours of cars with X wheel type. Only way you can choose is sometime a performance tyre but then you are paying for that.

A list of the tyres my type you can find in the forum - give search a try.

I have seen the list but my dealer is clear you get what BMW put on it no choice - presumably from the list.
I am surprised because with my 2 Polestars you knew exactly what was on each model and it was (supposedly) designed for that specific model.
My concern is that for the 20" accoustic wheel the list Hankook which has an excellent reputation and great reviews and something called Verdstein which I have never heard of and whose reviews are pretty mixed being generous.
I am very surprised a top manufacturer doeasn't stick to major reputrable brands

I think if the can was being pushed and was an M3 that might be taken on a circuit or more then yeah I get it but most of us will drive this car not on its door handles and the human is more of an issues on the tyres. Agree it's a bit frustrating it was the same with the X1. I think we got better on the lottery with some Pirelli I think but she couldn't care less they are round and that's it.

Verdstein is a good tire brand. I've had a set from them on my E30 for a few years and I am quite happy with them.

I would like to choose the tire brand. Therefore, the 1045 rims with summer tires will be put into storage, and all-season tires from Pirelli or Michelin will be ordered.

You don't.
You find out when your car is delivered to your dealer.

At best, you would know what type of tires it was (i.e. All season vs summer performance tires) in Canada anyway. The wheels you have selected according to the Canadian configurator comes with performance summer tires, which does not guarantee this is the case int he UK since the UK configurator doesn't list the type.
Going by the list provided above could be a Pirelli or a Hankook tire.

All UK cars come with summer tyres as standard, even in winter.

Verdstein is a good tire brand. I've had a set from them on my E30 for a few years and I am quite happy with them.
I'm glad you find them OK but Tyre Reviews the main UK website disagreed putting them 10th. If I end upm with them I think I will have to change as I am particular to get decent tyres and will also be really pissed off

Like many brands, they also make some inexpensive tires. Was that a review of the actual tire BMW uses from them? because you cannot extrapolate from a single tire review from a brand to all of the tires they make. In order for BMW to use them, they needed to meet BMW's specifications.

If it was the actual tire then, I 100% respect the Tyre reviews guy's opinion on the subject and would prefer any of the 9 on the test he did.

No it wasn't the BMW specific one but t was their top summer tyre and not the only review which has given them relatively poor marks whereas Hankooks regulalrly come in top 3 across the board. If I end up with them I'll give them a short trial on your recommendation but I do find tyre brand to be critical for handling and safety

Drive it like you stole it for the first 5k and then flip them to something of your choosing. As mine is a company car I won’t get the choice up front or afterwards it’s tyre lottery time.

I’ve got Bridgestones on mine now that some say are terrible but I find them ok, could move to something else but they are rather expensive as runflats and having driven some with no air in at a BMW event in the past and find the ride great they stay.

After a bit of searching it looks like the ix3 20" comes with the Vredestein Ultrac when you get that brand. If that's not the case, please let me know.

Here is the video from Tyre Reviews where it compared favorably in its category, although not the best per the default weighting system used for the results(you normally can custom rank them on the site)
