From Carwow:
It’s the ultimate German V8 showdown as we bring together four German heavyweights at the Carwow drag race strip!

We’ve got our hands on the limited-edition Audi RS6 GT, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S, the brand-new BMW M5 Touring, and the incredible Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.

Let’s take a closer look at the stats…

The Audi RS6 GT is the most hardcore version of the RS6 we’ve ever seen, featuring a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that pumps out 630hp and 850Nm of torque. It utilises an 8-speed automatic gearbox to send power to all four wheels and weighs in at 2,075kg.

The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S is the lightest car in this lineup at 2,045kg and relies on pure internal combustion rather than hybrid assistance like in the BMW & Porsche. Its 4-litre twin-turbo V8 produces 639hp and 900Nm of torque, paired with a snappy 9-speed automatic transmission that is famous for its brutal launches.

The all-new BMW M5 Touring arrives with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 coupled with an electric motor that combines to deliver a massive 727hp and 1,000Nm of torque. While it is the heavy hitter of the group at 2,475kg, that 8-speed automatic gearbox and instant electric torque might just be enough to offset that huge weight.

The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid rounds out the grid as the most powerful car here, boasting a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 hybrid setup that generates a staggering 782hp and 1,000Nm of torque. It uses a lightning-fast 8-speed automatic transmission to manage all that power, and despite its high-end luxury, it is ready to give the others a real run for their money.

So will the more powerful hybrids win it? Or will the extra weight slow them down? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE!

Porsche kept throwing horsepower at the problem until it finally had enough, after years of losing the drag race to bmw and Mercedes. BMW and Mercedes can reclaim this by doing the same thing.
