This is a very minor niggle, but I often have my dog in the boot and we're getting in to summer very soon.

The rear climate is always set to 22°C when I enter the car. It doesn't matter if I previously changed it using the buttons on the rear control panel, or pressed sync on the drivers climate control system - It always reverts back to 22°C, and that isn't particularly cool.

Is this a software bug, or a weird choice by BMW to default it to a fairly high temperature?
I recently contacted Connected Drive on this one, as currently I switch the rear off. As you say the front and rear are in permanent conflict with one another, as I run the front at 19 so it makes no sense having the rear set at 22. The reply received simply stated that the climate control was working as designed and there was no plan to change it. Furthermore they added that there was no better solution to switching it off if it was something that I did not want!
VincentHannah's user avatarVincentHannah this is a known issue in the iX and you can find plenty to read on it in the iX Forum. Without wanting to poke the bear, the expert on this matter is deutsch100's user avatardeutsch100 and he can take you through the sordid history.

While we like to think of it as a software bug, BMW have created this as a software feature. The only method to invoke sync once you have set the desired drivers temperature is to use voice control and say 'BMW sync temperature'.
