10+ M cars. Had F80, E90, G80 G87, etc now ‘25 x3 m50. Love it, driving dynamics, power, poise, etc top notch….plastic interior parts annoy me, along w the quad exhaust and M lights to illuminate my door, I feel like a fake….regardless I’m over it based on stability, chassis, steering, and power and btw I push it hard and gets >25mog if you care. Couldn’t take a G87 manual 2WD in WI. Overall, great everyday driver, love the dynamics, and a great “tweeter” car for me on weekdays and in snow and a 992 TS for weekends. Frankly can’t wait for a flash tune, midpipe, and some IND gooodies and it’ll be pretty unstoppable for

Lease, the X3 M50 was $ 73k , the X5 we had no clue of ever buying was $82k..the X5 we lease for $914 , the X3 was more by $400..I just got a 24 X4M40I and that leaked for $1k at $71k..
That X5 interior is next level as we are long time 3 series peeps... |

Nice- I’m thinking my wife would like the new x5 in white. Is that mineral or alpine? I find alpine to be very sporty on the x5

It's Alpine...it looks awesome in the bright S Fla sun..it has the coffee interior which the wife loves..the X3/X4 feels so ghetto compared to the X5

We will probably just go Alpine/black leather with comfort seats. We constant open the moonroof so having a functional one is a pro over the closed fixed roof |

[QUOTE=AventurinG26;31610197]And so much freaking lag/no power unless the engine is on boil above 3000rpm. When I drove an X3M Comp I was really disappointed by the normal drivability of the engine. Going up even a minor slope the car would have to downshift 2-3 gears to have enough power to maintain speed even with the transmission and drive mode set to their most efficient settings. The B58 pulls like a freight train from idle to redline with so much low end torque it never needs to downshift unless you are trying to pass someone. I also love the low baritone sound of the B58 that sounds distinctly inline-6 whereas I’ve always thought the S55 and S58 sounded way too much like high revving old school American OHV V6s like the old GM 3800.
I owned and have significant/extended experience with both engines. B58 is great, S58 is next level - especially if in the right mode (transmission /throttle), arguably in the case of the true ///M variants they can be a little sensitive at times- all comes down to settings/drive mode. I’ve driven the new M50 as well, it does drive well, it does sound nice. I’ll leave impressions on the interior and other aesthetics out of it. My 20 X3M on the original Continental’s was pretty damn firm, switched to MPS4s and the ride improved significantly. My 24 X4MC on MPS4s is markedly improved- no complaints. I think in relationship to a G45 M50i the G01 M40i is the better comparison. Personally, I’m not sure I would flip out of a LCI G01 for an M50. Lastly, pre LCI 2018 M40i’s exhaust sound for the win over the M50i flame suit on LOL!

Saw one of these on the road yesterday and boy is it tough to look at.
Some major misses by BMW this generation. Meanwhile, I see my old F15 X5 and it still looks modern and elegant. What a shame. Hopefully this new design regime will turn things around. |

Quad tips on a non M vehicle is just disgusting from a visual standpoint. And the busy Russian nightclub interior (as many have described - not me) is a bit much to say the very least. The inside cabin looks plastic & unplanned from 10 feet away. Thank goodness they built the F97 X3 M & it will go down as one of the last bullet proof ICE SAV's ever made. The exterior of this new X3 look quite bland as well.
